Play along all you like - whatever that means, however your original statement about adverts in the UK and US being the same allowable length within a period of time is wrong.
    True. Hope it doesn't hurt.
Don't think either of the above channels are as yet available on DTT either are they? No idea what that's got to do with anything but thought I'd throw another reference to DTT in.

Well even though this has nothing what so ever to do with the topic (although its nothing new to see a BBC supporter trying to change the topic) the point was Atlantis was shown on CH4 and guess what yes it ran for 60 minutes just like it did in the US so the advert lengh was around the same just like Hex was when that got shown in the US

Maybe we should add another question to the poll: Given the option which one would you choose?

I was to give you £135 and ask you to watch some programs with a bit of adverts OR take £135 from you and give you access to similar stuff but without adverts.

£135 is way too much, how many of you boil the kettle/go to the loo when the adverts come up in commercial broadcasting? It’s not exactly a wasted time is it?

I know which option I prefer.

Nope - sorry you are wrong - go on admit it.

The rules in the two countries are different aren't they - go on look it up for yourself.

The shows you mentioned above would have to fill a designated slot - an hour. If the show was on CH4 and it's running time was only 45 minutes not all of that remaining 15 minutes could be taken up with adverts, its not allowed. So there would have been trails for other Channel 4 programmes, or similar, to make up the short fall. In the USA the whole 15 minutes could have been taken up with adverts.

There you go, nice and simple. Your original statement was and still is incorrect.

Now you can get back on topic of BBC bashing, you are welcome to it.

Bangs head on wall - CHECK THE DVD's and you'll see the runtime which was thought with adverts in mind are around 40/45 minutes which is inline with UK shows now please stop trolling and stay on topic

You wouldn't get people bashing it if they had a choice but right now its either pay for your beloved BBC or be classed as a criminal:mad:

So truth does hurt - oh dear.

I am not trolling just pointing out that a statement you made which turns out to be wrong.
And just for fun here's another that you got wrong
That's because the UKTV Channels are owned by the BBC and broadcasted from Television centre

See if you can find out where they are actually broadcast from.

I sometimes wonder about the truthfulness of people when they say they "never" watch the BBC or watch it very rarely

Let's take this present week, for example (reading from TV supplement from newspaper):

    Sat 28th July = Nothing on BBC1 or 2. (watched Law & Order:SVU Ch5).
Sun 29th = watched Top Gear Polar Special Rpt BBC2, and Vanished Ch5.
Mon 30th = Nothing on Beebs. (watched Dirt, and House Rpt on Five US).
Tues 31st = Nothing on Beebs. (watched CSI:Miami on Ch5).
Wed 1st Aug = Nothing on Beebs. (watched PGA golf Five US, and Brothers & Sisters Ch4).
Thurs 2nd = Nothing on Beebs. (will watch House, and Shark on Ch5).
Fri 3rd = Nothing on Beebs. (will watch Blenheim ITV1, and The Shield Ch5).

That's one programme out of an entire week.....and this is in a family of 5 choosing what they watch by circling programmes in the printed schedule ....and then we all go off to our computers in frustration at the general lack of something interesting to watch (apart from our DVD collection).

It's not wrong Troll because I've provided proof but you admitted you couldn't even check the runtimes

The UKTV Channels are broadcasted from Television centre perhaps you thought you could catch me out with UK Living, Bravo and the other ones which are owned by VM though ;)

Do you intend to go back on topic now because I've already reported you for trying to drag this elsewhere like a good little BBC person

I record the programmes and then skip the adverts with my handy skip-function button :D;) so I'd take the 1st option.
