  • Good afternoon :)

    Here is my glitch lesson for this afternoon :D Just skim past this post if you already do this, I don't want to teach Granny how to suck eggs :D I just know that I would have been grateful for this post before I worked out how to do this :) and it took me a while :D

    In the msm app I make a list of a particular offer, in this instance the 3 for £9 offer because we desperately need a new trigger for the elixir. Click to see all items in that offer and add each one to your list. Now you have one of everything in your basket. These items are unlikely to be triggers because you found them on MSM.

    Email this list to yourself from the phone app then go to a PC, copy everything from the list into a word document and put in alphabetical order. I also like to number everything but this is optional :p You are left with this list:

    1 - 111

    I will now try to memorise what's on this list, also I print it and take it with me to A5da. I then look for anything unfamiliar instore in the offer, ie not on this list. Any such item could be a trigger but you still need to scan it with the app. Anything that scans unavailable is likely to be a trigger. Anything scanning unknown could well be but not as high a chance as unavailable. As we all know nothing is guaranteed with APGs :D
    There's more chance of finding bars of gold next to the peas in the freezer department.

    All this talk of maths problems reminded me of this....
    [skip to next post if you don't want brain-ache:)]

    How to Make the Universe Collapse
    (using alegebra)
    Let's start with any two numbers, a and b, which just happen to be the same, So:
    a = b
    Now watch very carefully, I shall do this only once;)....
    (where it says a2 or b2, it means a squared or b squared - the superscript numbers won't display properly is all)
    Multiply both sides by a: a2 [i.e., a squared] = ab
    Subtract b2 from both sides: a2 - b2 = ab - b2
    On the left-hand side is the difference of two squares so we know that a2 - b2 = (a + b)(a - b). On the right-hand side is ab - b2; both bits will divide by b, so it can be written as b(a - b). So we get this:
    (a + b)(a - b) = b(a - b)
    Now divide both sides by (a - b) to get:
    (a + b) = b
    There is nothing to multiply the brackets by, so get rid of them:
    a + b = b
    Move the +b across and change the + sign:
    a = b - b
    So we have:
    a = 0
    Remember that a and b could be any number, so we've just proved that any number equals zero. This implies that any measurement of time, distance or weight is non-existent .... so bye-bye Universe:D

    (as explained by Kjartan Poskitt in 'Everyday Maths for Grown Ups')
    But (a + b)(a - b) = b(a - b) is not the same, if you expand it, it gives you..
    aa-ab+ba-bb = ba - bb ? (I think)

    Its a cushion but a tablecloth would be cool. It was off ebay. Kids toy room is pirate/sugar skull themed (OH and his designer ideas :))
