Sainsbury's seems a bit desperate. I still have £4 wys £20 which expires in a couple of days. Got petrol this morning and two till spits, one for 1000 bonus points when I swipe my card by 26th and £8 wys £40 by 28th. I'm thinking that if I spend £40 I might get £12 off and 1000 extra points. Does anyone know if they will overlap please?

I also got a mailing (incompatible with the £4 voucher) giving me 250 bonus points in two different time periods and also telling me about their shop 'n' save promotion, which I can't find on the web. From 15-28 Feb and again from 1-14 March I can spend a total of £40 across any number of shopping trips and will get an £8 money off coupon. Does not say if it is a conditional spend one.

What on earth does one buy in Sainsbury's please, which is not a rip-off?!
Hi piscaso - I had the same scenario as you with a £4 off £20 x 6 and have struggled as hate spending 'real' money. If it is any help lots of kids' parties things very cheap and also quite a bit of lego with 75 pc off. HTH

Out of interest, if a promotion runs between two dates and you make an online purchase between those dates, but it is not delivered until after, when is it purchased? Date of order or date of delivery?

    Many thanks

What time was the shop done Savvy?

Interested as this might possibly give us the opportunity of doing some back to front glitching. I'm pretty sure the Homeprides were 98p each up until the price changed yesterday because I remember thinking that A were going to make us buy more items to get a worse deal.

Just wondering when the actual prices at the till change over on a Wednesday morning and if it is the same in every store?

Is it possible going forward that if we see cheap items going into a less attractive offer that we sneak in and buy them at the good cheap price and then benefit from the price comparison of the new offer?

Something to think about and potentially another way of spotting a glitch.;)

I'm still thinking about this and I think that it is possible that we might have been missing a trick up to now.

    How about..

When the price of an item in A changes to a better price than the current price, at midnight or whatever time after midnight they are set to change, the tills charge the new price. This way it doesn't matter what any instore labelling says as the customer is always paying a better price than the old price.

    And how about..

When an item goes to a price that is worse than the current price, the stores use a completely different mechanism to alter prices charged at the tills. This way the stores have control over the till prices and maybe switch when they have put all their new labels out, thus avoiding overcharging and a load of £2 GCs.

Perhaps A have a national switch that changes the worse till prices each day/week at a specific time and each store works to that time to make sure they get their labelling done to avoid overcharging.

I think this may need further investigating. Evangeline/Munqui, if you can maybe find such an offer for next Wednesday that would be a great help. I'm sure there will be a few willing volunteers to try this theory. I would do it but I'm off to Camber Sands with the sprogs for half term next week. Happy to do it the week after though.

If you manage to get some helpers, maybe try staggering the times as well to see if that gives any more info.
  • Since Checkoutsmart and clicksnap seem to have the same offers - on the actimels can you buy all 3 at A @£1.50 each, compare to M at £1.00 and claim the same receipt on both clicksnap and checkoutsmart for £1.00 back on each?!
