Morning all.Hope they decide to stay at home while they can, there are so many downsides to renting and very few upsides. You're just basically lining someone else's pockets and helping them have an early retirement. It's soul destroying sometimes to think of how much money you could have saved. For the sake of the company of someone you don't like for a few yrs, it's worth putting up with as it sets you up for life then (unless it's an abusive situation of course)
Whilst I totally agree with you.....(you knew there would be a but...) I saw some research, cant remember where, but the upshot of it was that over the course of a lifetime, renting and buying were overall, about the same cost. It took into account mortgage payments, new boilers and roofs, etc. It certainly made you think.

Good morning all, very quick catchup today!!
A bit grey out there, and two magpies trying to stare me down
Walking by the river yesterday I got the distinct impression nature thinks the season's on the turn, all the mallards were paired off (though one female had 6 males after her ) and the birds were incredibly noisy! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
