Fwiw (as I'm doing M frozen ready meals M £1 vs A 85p), this one isn't 85p in A, instead is much higher:
ASDA Chosen by You Chicken Chow Mein (375g)£1.50/Any 3 for £4.00
but could compare Avs M. Price for M on weight adjustment 93.75p, as M is 400g. There are other ready meals in A at 85p that are 400g. Depends also if they spot from the description that the product contain noodles - the M one does.
It won't make the M list, being vs £1 for 400g rather than being 85p straight.0 -

So what we need is a massive change from fast/convenience food stick it in the mw and wait for the ping.
Listen to the oldies and TMbuy a peeler and get to know a spud and once they are comfortable with that try a carrot Home made meals can be very cheap and nourishing.
Stick them on the tv :T
The trouble is like everything else people want it easy and easy generally costs.
One word....SOUP
So so easy to make, even FC could make it.
You only need a pan, so no special equipment purchases.
Cheap, nutritional, warming and filling.
Its the way forward I tell yee!!
Can you tell I have just finished making my pan of soup. Will last me the week, broccoli and Shropshire Blue, mmmmm!!“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

Being very honest, I can cook stuff, I'm just extremely lazy where cooking is concerned, thats the bottom line. For example, I can make a (veggie) spag bol or chilli from scratch, but I just find it quicker/easier/cheaper to bung a jar of sauce on instead.
Lots of things I love, the kids won't eat as they don't like them - for example, macaroni cheese or anything in a cheese sauce. If I was sensible, I would batch cook these for myself, then freeze them, so I had nice healthy "ping" meals. Instead, when I do cook them, I end up eating far more than I should in one go, because I'm a greedy guts, so then I just end up not bothering at all.
I'm 6 years older, and we were taught to cook properly. But as mum was a gypsy, I was also taught to cook at home.... as it was supposed to be my role in life! I do like to be a rebel!:D:D:D:D

Am very envious of people that have someone else to cook for them! Been a single parent coming up 14 years now, so someone to cook me dinner that hasn't been pinged or doesn't consist of something on toast (about the best of my kids offerings!) would be lovely!0 -

While we are admitting things I have cooking skills but too lazy to use themwhen I have a man who can.
I can cook if I put my mind to it, my OCD does get in the way though as the decks have to be totally clear before I start which is difficult with Mr TS around. It doesn't bother him if someone has made a sandwich etc and not cleared up he just works around it, I can't so everyone would be waiting for ever. :rotfl:0 -

Yum! Have made that before, very long time ago. Also a nice carrot and coriander, again, year ago.
Remember making a celery soup once, went very very wrong, don't even remember how, just remember it was awful! :rotfl:0 -
Right, I'm off to bed as this talk of food is making me hungry!
Wonder if they'll be any more "Ladyshoppers" popping up trying to cause trouble anywhere else?!
