    Good morning.
I have read the blog and I still think the writer has no idea what it to be really poor.I remember walking 3 miles pushing the old pram with my mum to the coal yard to get a hundred weight of coal. The coal man used to give us extra. She used to buy bones from the butcher for soup. The home baking section of supermarkets is the smallest section in the shop today. There is a severe lack of education in this department in this country today.

Tend to agree...she seems to be angry at Jamie O for not being able to afford a £20 joint....she doesn't know shes born!

People expect too much nowadays and want everything on a plate!

My child hood was pretty much as she described and my Dad worked, we made do with what we had and I remember washing my hair with washing up liquid too!

    Bring on frugal Feb!!;):D

For me, the hardest thing would be choices. Food or warmth. Rent or shoes. And I think that through the generations these difficult choices have had to be made. Some of us have witnessed this at first hand:A

There is one area though where there is simply no choice. Children have to be fed. Simple as.

Hi, I think the Garnier skin naturals pure active 3 in 1 is still a trigger? Haven't used it in the last 5 days but still seems to be missing from A.com and msm? Has worked well for a while now and my kids rate it as a product (which is a bonus where triggers are concerned :D). BC 6580.

Thanks will have to have a look

Can I pick people's brains please

In relation to the Foxes and the 20 of a specific item.

Is the 20 of specific item for each month?

    TIA

    Morning all.
    Hope everyone is well.

    Hi SM
I thought it may have been 20 of specific time over the promotion period xx
Cherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won't be there anymore.

In reference to the blog post... The Upsetting Truth... I can't help but feel this person is mad at society, sure I've had a very nice upbringing, my parents both retired in there mid-30's due to ill health and luckily they got payments because of this - although I'm sure they'd rather have there health and work than the life they have now.

But that doesn't mean to say that I'm lavish with money, when I was around 18 I had a partner, her mum was a single mum and both kids worked in the local shop... To buy things for themselves your thinking right? No. To put £5 on the electric, £5 on the gas, and be able to buy ASDA SmartPrice EVERYTHING!

I'd sleep over some nights and you'd be shivering to your bones! You'd wake up the next morning and there would be nothing for breakfast, you'd open the cupboards they'd actually be bare.

She broke down a number of times because she didn't have enough petrol in the 1998 Fiat Punto, because she'd only ever top it up by £5.00 once on a very busy round-a-bout. Lucky for her she was quite good looking for an older lady, and often managed to find men who were willing to push her and her car out of any danger, but safe to say she was still embarrassed by the whole thing.

She wasn't mad at life or society, she just got on with it. As did her kids.

My current partners sister, again a single working mother. Has been living without WIFI for 8 months... Has a car that doesn't lock, not safe when you have a 2 year old who's constantly reaching for the door. This is someone who will go without food to ensure her son is fed and clothed.

Again, doesn't moan, these are the cards that have been dealt and so she gets on with it.

I see these people, and while I have a steady income that doesn't mean that I live lavishly, hence why I am here, hence why we are all here I guess. To save money.

I feel as though that blogs a bit, feel sorry for me with my over exaggerated life story. Sorry if that's something that offends anyone.

That's what I've done here. I'm an Apple geek so all my Calendars are Sync'ed it looks like a right mess... I have my work in there, I schedule time for my self employed work, I've some reminders like APG's set for an alert the day before there due to expire and I've the other half's shifts. Im organised, but in a mad way. :rotfl:

I can relate. :) My google cal is colour coded for employed working days, self-employed working days, tasks, urgent tasks:) , appointments, etc. What with that and all my spreadsheets.....! What I really need is to schedule some more time for scheduling. :rotfl:

No I'm sure it doesn't offend anyone N6. I'm just so pleased that we all discuss the issue in a mature way without resorting to some of the stuff you see on other threads. Sharing experiences and debating is good:)
