A few years ago we were one year into a five year fix at 6.99% when the rate plummeted one year after moving - i ran the figures and paid a hefty exit penalty (£2k iirc) but it still worked out much cheaper even in the first year . I switched to First Direct Offset base rate tracker and haven't looked back - saved a fortune. There are a number of online calculators where you can compare rates including exit fees etc.
Anon
Yes that's it Anon but £5,000:eek: I wish I could do these online calculators and understand them and help him out.:o0 -

I have just sent a complaint off to Air Wick
I am testing their life scents range for bzz and have spent over 2 hours since yesterday trying to unscrew the 2 liquid bottles
I have eventually managed it thanks to the wonderful Snap who ages ago sent me a parcel and it had a 1p nutcracker in the parcelamong other things.
I went into kitchen looking for something after my hand , tea towel , rubber jar twisting thingy and plenty  at the bottles didn't work.
I found the nutcracker in messy drawer and :j:j:j bottles are now unscrewed and plug in thingie plugged in bedroomNo where to plug in living room. The sockets are in daft places.
Got blisters on 2 fingers and thumb on right hand with struggling.
Good for you tweets hope you get something back after all the trouble you had to go to;)As far as putting it in the Bedroom that would not work for me as would worry I might be allergic to it in a sleeping enviroment..just a thought.:)0 -
What a cow! Everyone deserves a treat no matter what your circumstances. I hate that attitude. 'Them'. Honestly. That could be any of us with a bit of bad luck
AnywayI made myself this wonderfulness for lunch
A reduced warburtons brown wrap, tomato, (slightly caramelised) red onion, spinach and goats cheese. Heaven!
The wrap goes really crispy and makes an excellent 'pizza' base
I want that NOW:DTo do is to be. Rousseau

Fourp & his brother are resigned to the fact that Mrs Fourp will die soon.
She is just wasting away before their eyes
He wishes it was sooner & quicker for her ♥
Such a long drawn out ghastly time in all their lives
Oh how awful, my thoughts and prayers are with you both:AThe person who never makes a mistake never learns anything.0 -
Oh sorry to hear that Snap.
How s Nannylala today are you just chilling ? I bought a second hand pine three door wardrobe from the Heart Shop , two door with hanging space and one with shelves for our little bedroom so I can get rid of the thin wood with calico covers over it. Need to psyche myself up sometime soon to prepare for itgot £35 knocked off the price and paid £100 including delivery
