Got 48 packs of biccies shame i rarely eat them. Still family are pleased. But upset tonight as found out that when Mum was in hospital over the weekend she had a problem with a nurse. Apparently she got a stain on the bedclothes , dont need to say what, and the nurse started shouting at her that she would have to bring home the sheets and wash and press them, that there were people who were much iller than her and then she put the call bell out of Mum's reach. Mum eventually got her to put it where she could reach it but she was awake all night she was so upset. She came home yesterday afternoon and this came out today. Not sure exactly what to do about it.
That is absolutely awful and is nothing less than abuse, there may have been patients far worse but that is still no excuse for the way the nurse spoke to your mum. The nurse should not be a nurse if she/he can not deal with these things. I know nurses are rushed off there feet, but if your mums nurse had a bit more compassion there would not be the bad feeling as there is now. I have been nursing for the last 29 years not in hospital but on community. I deal mainly with palliative and elderly and my patience and emotions are stretched to the limit. If patients are annoying which some are, as a nurse you have to turn a blind eye grit your teeth and not answer back, at the end of the day the patient is the poorly one whether minor or major problems and a nurse is a nurse whatever grade they are, they are there to help. The nurse in your mums case needs to be reported so the same doesn't happen again, to perhaps a more vulnerable person, we don't know the full story or the background of the nurse and any circumstances leading up to the incident-so tread carefully, be diplomatic, keep your cool be polite and then the issue will be resolved. Good luck and I hope your mum can also put this behind her, she needs to concentrate on getting better herself and not getting stressed with this incident.:)
  • Does anyone still have any pink poo or vvp left in their local?

These four Dove haircare products are £6.99 in A and £2.99 in T on msm. Any two of them with one of the aforementioned triggers might return £8.60 on a £10 spend..:D

    Good evening biscuiteers!

It's heartening to see so many people thinking of their local foodbank when stocking up on biscuits today. Everyone deserves a little treat every now and again :)

And speaking of treats, this is Sketch.

This is awful rose, not only the way she treated your mum, but the shear fact she put the call bell out of your mum's reach - what if your mum had suddenly taken a turn and couldn't reach the bell? When I was in hospital (quite a few years ago) after minor surgery the bell was put on my bed, barely had to move my hand to get to it! You have to complain, as others have said there is other people on that ward that cannot stick up for themselves, if she treated your mum like that you can almost guarantee she is treating others like that :(
