Savvybuyer wrote: »Yes this is good, but just how many items are there that cost individually lower than the mbuy price? In my stores they seem to pull them out of the mbuy and just be on straight price - or maybe I'm not looking hard enough. Also, although it seems to cause full prices on all the items, it's not as good as say being able to have 3x £1.62 vs elsewhere's price, instead we have 2x £1.62 and one low price at 92p. It causes full prices but, with the one item being cheaper, that may not give as much APG and needs to be taken into account as to whether the overall net cost, in the end, is worth it.
I know we've been concerned with M today, but what are the items that might go live on offers tomorrow and that we should be looking out for, e.g. what are we buying between midnight and 6am?:D
Nothing much as yet, just veetee rice 2 for £1.50 doesn't look worth doing to me.
This coke 4x1.5L multi seems missing from msm but again, not much back.
Mr A has been getting sneaky though, the new multi's seem to appear after midnight a lot more often recently. I should be asleep by then

EVENING, Am I being stupid, does Asda take its prices from MysM as well as my store has full price persil but Bold is reduced on A.com but full price on Mysm ???0
-
Thank you!
Yes there is a lot to read and join in on
I only started shopping at ASDA because of a TopCashBack offer for new customers :rotfl: I just realised I could check that order and have a voucher for 52p lolI guess if you include more things off the lists posted online that increases the chance your overall shop will result in a voucher?
I need to learn the abbreviations for lots of things though
I try not to leave anything to chance:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:!
You deliberately buy items that are all not 10% cheaper than one specific competitor, and nothing in the same shop where they are.
If A are more than 10% cheaper, then... buy at T, S or M instead! Careful with S as they do not cover own brands, so buy none of those there thinking they will compare to A being cheaper as they will not (you can buy own brands in S if S is way cheaper on them and therefore won't compare them to higher price at A as it is an own brand! However... if S is cheaper, then ... maybe buy in A for 10% cheaper than S!:rotfl:).
Plus of course the vital glitches in A on mix and matches sometimes, when specific items bought.
I do occasional lists of items that are Avs elsewhere. Haven't had much time for them recently though, and tend just to concentrate on Avs M - I have a full list on the first page of these thread (covers two posts). Be aware that vs M is a little risky, as they take prices from instore not from online and they don't always agree with what I have! Specifically, they tend to return some N/A but can also get some comparing against M at full price rather than their half price offer. M comp. not available in Northern Ireland.
For Avs other than M, see the website mysupermarket.co.uk. Tend to start at the competitor (of your choice) to where you are actually shopping. E.g. if going for Avs Sains, then start at Sains - Savvy Buys in Sains is a good place to start, although I tend not even to go for such high prices these days!:rotfl:
It shows you what items should compare from A vs whatever supermarkets. A compares vs M, S, T and W only. So, if you find Sains. cheaper - or cheapest - on an item, then that should be Avs S. A few quirks - the items have to be within 10% weight (as mentioned), whilst they still show prices on the website even if they are half size or twice size - these will not compare on APG system though, they will return N/A if outside 10% weight/number.
Also certain competitor mbuys (this is getting advanced;)!) do not compare - e.g. 3 for "2", 2 for "1", X for Y etc. if there are different individual prices on any items in the offer that are stocked (or equivalent own brand stocked, i.e. shown on msm) in both A and the competitor. In other words, even if some individual prices in the 3 for 2 etc. offer at the rival are different, you can ignore any items that have no equivalent in A. Or, for simplicity, forget about trying to compare vs the offer if any individual prices in it are different. Need consistent 89p 3 for 2 throughout, or consistent £1 3 for 2 or whatever. If any are different as regards items between A and the competitor, the whole lot return N/A on the APG if any attempt is made to compare against the competitor's offer pricing. (This can be to our advantage - e.g. if A is way more than 10% cheaper on those items:rotfl:.)0 -

Can some of the experienced match and morers tell me how the vouchers work? Is it possible that your vouchers could pop out without you realising or s/a noticing?
If this did happen would there be anyway of knowing:o
Many thanks
I was stood in a queue at M till at the weekend, the guy in front of me bought a sandwich and a drink, he produced no M&M card before paying and I noticed there was a £5 voucher spit hanging from the machine. The SA realised it was from the person's shop in front of the guy buying the sandwich and drink, took it out and folded it up and left it by his till.
He saw me watch what he did then when it came to my turn to be served a supervisor appeared and asked the SA if everything was ok (turned out sa was new) and he handed the supervisor the £5 spit and said the previous customer had left it on the conveyor belt . I'm glad to say the supervisor told him they need to be very careful with these vouchers as they are just like cash and she would take it to CS in case the shopper came back for it.
So, yes it is possible for vouchers to pop out without either the SA or customer noticing.
I always check before I leave home to see how many vouchers I'm due then count them out. Just be careful really:happylove Nanny to 2 Cherubs :happylove0 -
Hi ALL,
I used to use this thread when Tosco DTD was around, it has taken me nearly a month of reading this thread to understand the lingo you use.
Volbiet, read from here and it starts becoming clear.
Special thanks to the shortfatscottybloke for clarifying the A@ glitch.
Special thanks to the regulars who keep this up.
I get paid Friday (no money in Jan) and hope to join the glitches with you- I have Sainsbob and Tosco near me (shame not M or A)
Thankyou

Thanks for your helpOne cannot change the past, but one can ruin the present by worrying over the future.0 -
EVENING, Am I being stupid, does Asda take its prices from MysM as well as my store has full price persil but Bold is reduced on A.com but full price on Mysm ???
I'm not totally understanding you, but I suppose this leads to the next point that I could otherwise have included in my previous post just now.
Probably best put into this new post, so as to keep it simpler:rotfl:.
MysM takes a scan from a.com. It may be that the price of the Bold has just reduced on a.com but has not yet reached msm - may do so in the next few hours. (:eek:Not a good thing, as don't want prices in A to go down. However...it will still have full price in the system until 6am tomorrow (on the APG), if msm catches up with a.com before then, then the APG will pick up the new reduced price tomorrow.)
Is there any mbuy on msm that could be of advantage? E.g. if much more expensive than the now 'cheaper' price on a.com.
If Bold is reduced on a.com but full price on msm, msm may (probably will) update to the reduced price fairly soon. However... if you buy instore, the price you pay (we are not talking mbuys) is the price that appears on the APG so, even if msm is reduced price tomorrow, if you manage to buy instore at full price, it will still compare from full price and refund accordingly, so you won't lose on that, although it will probably be reduced price instore tomorrow.
If it is reduced price instore, but remains at full price on msm, then it should probably be bought in an online shop/C&C, as that uses the prices on msm rather than the price you pay.
Mbuys are a separate matter.
Now... as regards 'does A take its prices from msm?', in what sense do you mean this and this leads to my points about Avs M.
A's prices for competitors on the APG are taken from msm (however, this is not instantaneous and takes a short while before it reaches the APG if there is a change on msm). Except that prices for M are not taken from msm. As regards M, you may find cheaper items for M on msm and they may or may not work, but msm for M is not totally accurate. Prices for M are collected instore, not from msm.co.uk, so I almost completely ignore msm on those - you may take notice of msm, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but I tend to ignore it (regarding M prices) and there are occasional online exclusive items for M which will show on msm but they will not work on the APG as the prices for that are taken from instore. HTH.
Okay:o:o - I did have a sneaky peak at the Savvy buys for M on msm, to see if I was missing much - a number of world food items on there that I don't have in my stores - may work, may not, depends what price collector stores are like - but I'll have another go tomorrow to see what I pick up.0
