I thought 'cruise ships' as that could be short-term agency work, 2-3 weeks or however long the cruise is.

I could just imagine PD and EmmaP on the same ship....:eek::eek::eek:

Just another thought - what about teaching how to bake? Set up on your own, and give baking lessons/demos to very small groups (maybe at home, or in a friend's home, in the evenings or weekends) ... stick an ad in the local paper or online, and see what the response is; or are there delis/bakeries/cookware shops in London that offer cookery classes? (or if there aren't, try suggesting the idea to them).

And you could do catering for dinner parties/kids parties!

  • What about setting up your own company?

I've been looking into it, but don't know much about it, particularly with licences regarding making food. Also it's a bit of a contentious issue at home. I currently live with my mother and she's not keen on the idea of me running a business here...

I've had quite a pent up resentment at my career being cut short in its prime :o:o not towards anyone.....just circumstances.
But I'm right back on it now :D I'm still young!

....my OH however is not so impressed at not having an on call wife anymore. He will get over it ;) It has actually been quite a battle of wits :o He really did not want me to take another job on!

Its been stressful but I think I've got my point across ;)

Good for you! It's advisable to release pent up feelings... or so I hear

Sorry scamps, it's viewable on my msm.:(

    Evening all.
    Just been catching up.

    QOC, you're freeeee:D Enjoy it hun.:D

Nannylala, hope you had a lovely day reminiscing about your DH.

FC sorry about your DS being bullied. I've been through that with DS2, but in his case it was a teacher doing the bullying:eek::mad: Hope the other lad being moved sorts it out.

Hugs to snap and fourp. Hope Mrs fourp improves soon.

I've been really busy so been popping on and skipping to get the gist of the elite antics. :D

I joined SW three weeks ago, and have lost 6.5 lbs in two weeks. So pleased that tweets has done so well, she's an inspiration.

Bubbs, well done on quitting the fags. I gave up last year. My last ciggie was on the 9th Feb, so nearly a year for me.:j It's hard at first, even with an ecig, but keep at it. I never realised how much smokers pong til I gave up. I feel mortified :o that I must have smelt like that without knowing. Perfume, mouth spray or extra strong mints definitely don't cover it up:(

DS2's car had an argument with a pothole on Thursday. He couldn't undo the locking wheel nut and stripped the key trying. It took the RAC recovery 6 hours to recover him and his car. While he was waiting two more cars hit the same pothole and wrecked a wheel each too. It's going to cost:eek:. VW wanted £597 for a new wheel:eek::eek:, so did the ebay thing, and got one that matches perfectly for £110. It will need a new tyre, and goodness knows what the garage is going to cost, as they spent ages trying to get the locking wheel nuts off. I feel a claim letter to the council coming on.:D Any tips would be gratefully received.

Had a lovely meet with VT on Friday. It was definitely a mistake leaving her alone in Next;):p:rotfl:

I printed off my last Dr O vouchers today. Good job the men in this house like them, albeit with a few extra topping chucked on.;)

I'm off now, so hope you are all well. Sorry about the essay.

I was very restrained in Next as couldn't carry anymore on my own:rotfl::rotfl:

I think Em would be great at doing the announcements over the tannoy - "The shuffleboard competition is about to start on Deck 2", "Baby crying in Cabin 46", that kind of thing:D

No where near confident for that. I know what kind of work I want, it's finding it at this time of year that's the problem. Well that and I haven't looked as much as I could. That's this weeks task :)

Doesn't have to be catering work on a cruise ship, of course; I would have thought they are always looking for cleaners, maids, front-of-house staff, bar staff, etc, etc

Pay is very low and hours are extremely hard in this sector, thats why tyhe majority of staff on a cruise ship are foreign. No minimum wage when at sea.
