Happy weekend everyone. Just a quick question and I know it is like a 'how long is a piece of string?' type of question. But what is an average a person can earn each month doing mystery shopping?
I would be able to do it one day a week and then a few on weekends?
Just a guesstimate is great as I dont expect anyone to expose their earning.
Thanks.0 -

Yeah that really does vary from job to job but if you are looking purely at earnings then the a simple report only mystery shop will average between £10-£20 and be far less if you're allowed to keep a product. Each shop takes an hour on average so say a maximum of 8 per day and thats £80 average but thats assuming they are all in proximity. Some days I've had free hotel and free train travel and free lunch so hardly any money but no costs.0 -

"a simple report only mystery shop will average between £10-£20" .... if you're very lucky that is, some will pay half that or even less!!We’ve had to remove your signature. Yep - would agree with that comment - I also think the proximity of other jobs in the area, will also be a decider on how many jobs you can do in one day. You might be able to do eight walking around a city centre or large shopping centre but would be more challenging in the suburbs or rural area, where you waste time driving between jobs, getting caught in traffic, and parking.
The other issue of course is getting a 'string of jobs' in an area as they don't always fall that easily.0 -

I think that is a hugely optimistic portrayal of what typical MS fees are for "simple report only assignments."0 -
If you need or want to start making a decent amount of money quickly then this might not work. Once you've signed up for a few companies, you will see that many jobs pay about a £3-5. Perhaps with a reimbursement for a snack or whatnot thrown in. Pocket money really. Some jobs pay more as indicated but they're usually quite a bit of work.
As you do more and have been checking the msc's boards for longer, you'll see better jobs coming up and might be able to do some last minute jobs for a premium.
The step I've taken this year is to get into video shopping - as you can earn an amount in a day that you can actually pay bills with. I'm finding that it has its up and downs but it's working out.
Personally if I can make a few hundred a month shopping then I'm happy.0 -
If you are in a big city ie. Birmingham/Manchester the problem is most visits (even those paying £3 or £4) go within minutes of being posted online.
I am always amazed that people pick them up for this amount, especially when it involves travel to do the job. I have virtually sacked myself from MF as think they are taking the 'P' IMHO on the fees for their jobs. Not going to make any money working for MF and better off working on jobs which do. Not missed their 'banal' queries either.0 -

I look at these jobs as 'I was going to go out for dinner anyway so might as well be re-imbursed for it' rather than making money. We tend to go for dinner 2/3 times a month so I just pick and chose the jobs that fit in with that.0 -
