So shall I just declare the fees as told
my worry is that say they audit MF and MF have paid me X amount but some of this payment is reimbursement Z so do I only declare fee part Y and keep receipts for Z and hope for the best
if you go into the pending payments on MF it shows a breakdown of month by month earnings and splits it into earnings and reimbursements.
I keep all of these printed in a folder should the tax office query anything about why MF and your figures don't match but Id expect they are aware of this and unless you're earning huge amounts I wouldn't worry yourself so long as you declare all the earning fees youre paid accurately0 -
yes thanks I am. I do put the figures into a spreadsheet. I haven't printed them off as I think I will drown in paperwork but no doubt they could be accessed if there was a query.
that's great advice and it matches what I have been told
No definitely not huge amounts from MF:)
I think the reimbursements are kind of like expenses in some senses.0 -

They've been getting steadily worse for sometime now as one of the other companies I get on very well with tells me they win lots of new contracts by going in so low with costs but this then gets passed onto shoppers with stupidly low fees. When you balance it against the ridiculous questions that need you to explain the same thing in triplicate with minimum word requirements it puts you off certain jobs.
I like them though as they have a wide range of different assignments which I can slot in with other work in the area to reduce my daily costs for things like lunches and travel but would never be able to look at them as a viable source of income.0 -
I only use MF, the other's don't seem to have very user friendly websites which puts me off.
Got one tonight which I am rather looking forward to!0 -
I recently got an international holiday with a company which I would not have got allocated had I not done so many low level menial jobs first
may I ask which company that was for please?0 -

Think I accidentally clicked spam prior to quote...apologies.
This was through MF. I think they only come up like 3 or 4 times a year and you can't do more than 1 every 12 months. They go within minutes of being posted as well so you need to be on the website like a hawk.0 -

I declare Both fee and reimbursement and take off the expenses as costs.
Same end result but sometimes the reimbursement for food is say £20 but it only cost £15 so i need to pay tax on that extra £5.0 -

If you only spent £15 on the food, even though the reimbursement was £20 don't they only pay you for what you spent? That's what I have found.
MF money in the bank today :j0 -
so are the expenses printing, mileage etc. Do they usually offset the reimbursement
if you claim expenses for internet, office etc do you have to tell your insurer you are running a business from home?
wearing a reimbursement item today. Half the time you use your own money towards it anyway as the reimbursements are so stingey0
