Pawning Computer
Hi all,
I've gotten into a bad situation where I bought a second hand car not realizing that because it was a 2.0 my insurance and tax would go through the roof, not to mention the petrol. Oh good lord, the petrol.
2.0 was just a number to me as I'm car illiterate lol.
I can get a better car that will cost me half the insurance, no tax and petrol will be WAY cheaper. But I need a £1100 deposit. Loans are a no-go at the moment as my credit score is in the crapper.
So I'm thinking of possibly pawning the most expensive item I own, my gaming PC. An Alienware Aurora gaming PC.
When I bought it, it was worth about £3500. Now I'm not looking to borrow that much. But do you think it's reasonable that I could pawn the computer and pay them back for the loan over a period of months? Would I get that much? Is this a really bad idea? Help!

Have you factored in the £1,100 as to whether you'll be 'saving' money?
It's all very well thinking that a new car will save you (say) £50 a month, but if it's effectively going to cost you £1,100 to save that £50 a month, it'll be nearly 2 years before a 'cheaper' car starts paying for itself."Facism arrives as your friend. It will restore your honour, make you feel proud, protect your house, give you a job, clean up the neighbourhood, remind you of how great you once were, clear out the venal and the corrupt, remove anything you feel is unlike you... The car will save me a minimum of £160 a month.0

A 2004 Toyota Avensis 2.0, I'm looking to downsize and really like the VW Up! as a small city runner. So I've priced up a 2015 VW Up! with the dealer, the monthly cost of the car payments is the same as the Avensis but everything else is a fraction of the running costs of the Avensis.0

How new is the computer ?
computers tend to devalue very quickly, especially the more expensive ones0 -
