It is an offence to open mail which was intended for someone else.
Oh dear, I wish people would think before publishing such misinformation.
A couple of years back I opened an envelope addressed to me from my bank. Inside was a letter intended for one Mr Ousely Moyniham, a person not known to me.
Please tell me tilt, what offence did I commit? You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

True.
I was merely pointing out the error of your post (no pun intended)

Are you seriously suggesting that advice from the C.A.B. should be taken seriously?
You seems to be contradicting yourself Tilt, I hope that you do not work for the CPS.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

Oh sorry... seeing as you think the CAB isn't a reliable and trusted source of advice, what about this one?

You posted
"It is an offence to open mail which was intended for someone else"
You could have worded it in a way specific to the OP but chose not to, instead you posted something that was incorrect.
That's what I love about these forums sometimes, there's always one that will split the thinnest of hairs to win an argument.
Ok, let me explain myself. My information was aimed at the OP specifically as I cannot see any reasonable excuse for opening a letter intended for someone else from a private parking company.
So there was no need to mention (in my opinion anyway), the "without reasonable excuse" bit. :wall:PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

It is entirely possible that someone could have read your post and believed it to be true.
Which it isn't.
There are no split hairs.0
