When will credit cards report payments to credit file.

Options
Hi,

Ive recently paid off a nationwide and barclaycard credit card, how long does it usually take to show this on my credit report and can i do anything to speed up the process.

Furthermore a credit search mortgage advisor run two searches on me, one without my permission, how damaging could that be in regards to a further mortgage application?

Thanks in advance

  • They will report it in their monthly cycle. Nothing you can do to speed it up.

A couple of searches is not the end of the world, but you may want to discuss the issue with your adviser to ensure he is not sending out applications all over the place.

Wow, that was prompt, thankyou. I am no longer using this advsor, wont go into it again but its in the Mortgages section.

On my experian report it says the barclaycard has not been updated since 30/11/14, that must be due you would have thought.

There are a few posts suggesting that barclays update has been late this month.

If your concern is in relation to a mortgage application then a mortgage lender will understand that data on a credit file is out of date - and will usually be happy with other evidence of the current balances/paid of debts e.g your your cc statements.

It can take anywhere between 1-3 months for the updated info to show on your credit report.
