Nope, diesel fuel will come out fuel injectors and it may leak onto the engine if there is a fault somewhere but oil is something completely separate to them.
Diesel fuel on an engine can give the appearance of oil though.

Its an easy profit for garages, easy as a spakplug to fit with huge mark up on parts and £40 each ? to fit or £40 for the hours labour it really is.
All 4 failed at once ? Never heard that before.

How do you know they are not just telling everyone the same tale and swapping injectors with the last lot.

If you've ever taken an injector out you'd know this isn't the case. Many garages will actually outsource this job for the simple fact it can go wrong very easily. I've pulled injectors out that have come apart leaving springs to fall in the cylinder. They are a real ball ache, they really seize in place.

One of those jobs that in theory should be easy, but in practice can cause some serious problems if you're gonna DIY it.

Garages have to factor in this risk.

    Hi again retro
I'm sure it's deisel as the engine and bay has been kept very clean by myself (the van can only be described as concourse) I clean it twice a week (bit ocd really) and when I rubbed my finger over the engine it was black not like deisel.

If they are Delph injectors then they are renowned for the o ring or injector seals splitting.
This would cause the symptoms described of "oil everywhere" , loss of power and smoke the seals are around £4 each.
    sounds fishy this mate.

    Hi mark
If it helps when I opened the bonnet the oil was only on the right hand side of the engine.
From what your saying if it is the "Delphi injectors" dies thus mean the engine might not be knackered entirely?
Go steady with the lingo please I'm a plasterer
    Thanks

Yes they are a seal type injector as well, same problem you get with mercs and BMW, the seals go and diesel goes everywhere and air gets in the lines.
A second opinion might save you some cash.
Knew a merc 320 with a similar issue, they were told needed new injectors, two £4 seals later and its still going.

To Pegg and mark - cracked Pistons? Would the engine still tick over if they are cracked?
