Thanks for your advice, the POPLA code is coming up with Feb 2014 but as you say it is probably just an error, I will now have a look at getting an appeal together, should I include scans of the documents from the lease company and PPC as evidence?
You need to double check that POPLA code.
Have you used the code checker here?
http://www.parkingcowboys.co.uk/popla-code-checker/
It should give you a dd/mm/yyyy not just mm/yyyy as you report above.
If it is a 2014 date, you need to be doing something proactive about it now - out of date and POPLA will reject your appeal outright!

Hi,
I used the POPLA code checker and it comes back with date code generated 15th January 2014 and that I have missed the deadline to appeal by 343 days! The incident didn't happen until November 2014! Have they got Nostradamus working for them! As Mike172 says it must just be an error in the checker.0 -
Please try a manual check. The Parking Prankster blogged on this a couple of years ago - have a read and see what you come up with.

Hi,
I did a manual check of the POPLA code after looking at Parking Pranksters blog and the day is correct according to the rejection letter, it is just a year out!0 -
So what are digits 4,5,6, and 7 of the code?
Digit 7 should be a '5'Je Suis Cecil.0 -
The 4 (as ManxRed says) should be a 5. Change it and it will work, BUT don't assume so ask UKCPM quickly if that is right, then prepare your POPLA appeal.
Search the forum for the word 'analogous' as you have said 'it was issued was for not displaying a permit.' That search will find good POPLA appeal wording about 'no loss as permits are not analogous with Pay and Display tickets'. Make sure you use that wording you will find.PRIVATE 'PCN'? Hi,
Digits 4,5,6 & 7 are 0154 which I understand as being the 15th day of the year 2014.0 -
They've royally messed that up then. Complain to the BPA Ltd that you've been issued a POPLA code that is a year out of date.Je Suis Cecil.0

The original appeal was done through PTAS who have now ceased operation so I assume it was a standard appeal letter. I assume the lease company identified me as the driver to remove any liability to themselves.
You can reclaim via Paypal if the entire service offered by PTAS and accepted by you, was not preformed - I though they charged £16 to include POPLA stage.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
