I need a dental implant on one front tooth, but having phoned a few dentists they range from £2000-00 upwards. There are some UK ones online that say they do it for £1000-00 (all three parts) anyone know if they are any good. Anyone know a good cheap one?
Nice to save.

Front teeth, particularly very visible upper ones, are quite hard to do well and get a nice realistic looking gum line that looks like your other teeth.
Why has it been you who has had to ring round? Did your own dentist not offer to refer you to someone he knew would do it well?
Getting it done well is better than getting it done cheap. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
My dentist did refer me to one & he charges £2500-00. Much too much.Nice to save.0

Much too much ? ..... how much do you value you. These people may have no medical
qualifications.
Im a pensioner, I'll give you my address, I will do it for, mmmm, let me think.... 50 quid....
Why not wait a couple of years or 3. Let them rot and then get JK to pay for them....
Why wont your normal dentist do it under NHS or is it cosmetic and you don't really need one.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Is it possible for people to give a sensible answer??????? I have to have a tooth out. I look after my teeth but now it has to go. You can't have a bridge or dental implant on the NHS. So as the title says "Dental Implants cheap???"I have discussed it with my dentist & he agrees with me. It is not cosmetic as no one in their right mind wants a top front tooth missing.Nice to save.0

There are other ways to get a tooth replaced.
It is better to get it done well than to get it done cheap. A nice denture, or adhesive bridge will look way better than a bad implant.
Looking for an implant provider on price is a bad way to do it.How to find a dentist.

I appreciate what you say but I went over all this both with my wife & together with my dentist. For me the best thing would be a dental implant. These forums are about bargains & to try to get a good item cheaper, that is why I am asking on these forums. If anyone has had this treatment, & they are happy, I would like to look into the dentist they used. Many times in my life I have found things that are cheaper are sometimes better as well. I know that is not always the case but often it is, if you look around.Nice to save.0

Yes - sometimes they are.
And if they're not - you just buy another one and put it down to experience. No harm done.
That is not the case here. You are not buying a 'thing'. You are buying the skill and experience of the person putting it in.
An implant is basically a titanium grub screw that has a crown on a post fitted into it. Ok - it's all surgical grade stuff, made to tolerances of thousandths of mm, immaculately sterilised and pretty expensive as a screw goes - but that's not what you're paying for.
The places at the cheaper end of the market tend to be clinics where volume is king. Get them in, bang in the implants, get the money, get them out. The surgeons tend to be those nearer the beginning of their career, getting their experience, surgeons who don't have a surgery of their own yet, and just go round a few clinics fitting them, or foreign dentists over here getting experience as well. Now - because they're operating to UK regulations, there will be a basic level of competence, experience and qualification, and UK safety standards will apply - so all good there. But it will be pot luck who you actually get operating on you and the difference between the good ones and the 'less experienced' ones will be quite wide.
This won't really be a problem at all if it was a tooth nearer the back where no-one can see it. But at the front...?
I'm not saying that you should go for the dearest price you can find either. Price is a very bad way to decide on where to get something like this done - and that is true whether you are looking for the 'cheapest' and just as valid if you're looking for the 'best'.
The very last thing you want though is to not be happy with the result you get - because once done, it will be very difficult to get anything re-done.
Make sure the recommendation you get is for a named dentist - not a price at a clinic. How to find a dentist.

Yes good advice. My problem is at £2500-00 that is a definite no for me. A bridge is a cheaper option but is more invasive & some people I know who have had them have had problems & in the end went for a plate with teeth, again they have there own problems with eating & so on. I wish I was rich, it would be a no brainer. Thanks very much for your help & advice.Nice to save.0

The thing to bear in mind is an adhesive bridge or a denture do not stop you having an implant at a later date.
If you cannot afford an implant at the moment then having an adhesive bridge or denture will give you time to save to have the implant done well.0 -
Yes very true, I have been thinking along those lines should I not find a dental implant practice at a price I can afford.Nice to save.0
