Hi,
Does anyone know a price per sq mtr of each of the above, just as a rough guide?
I know the price will vary around the country and does anyone know if tarmac is rising in price?

i have both at our house ! but i know which one i prefer , even though the blocks look bees knees when new, tarmac loses colour over the years , but i paint mine every 2 years & it looks really good, the paint is water thin & goes on easy but it really does what it says on the tin. £60 for 20 ltrs

excuse me i no that was not your question , i really thik there wont be a big difference in price , but dont take my word for it.

Tarmac should be falling in price to reflect the fall in oil prices. The product is coated stone and supplied hot. Hence a substantial part of the price is the energy used to heat the stone and the binder, plus the cost of the binder used to coat the stone.

Tarmac is lower maintenance if it's laid properly.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.
  • Having had all sorts of driveways over the years I'd say you cant beat concrete if you want something that lasts a long time. I've had nothing but trouble with tarmac and block paving.

We have block paving with clay pavers. No fading and can be turned if they get stained, would personally love the cobble pavers but the budget wouldn't stretch unfortunately.

Thankyou, thats what I was looking for, we thought it should fall in price, but today I asked a company to give us a quote and they said the price of tarmac was going up.

Forewarned is Forearmed so now wewait until they come tomorrow with our quote

I'm struggling to understand why anyone would paint tarmac!

Yes, it fades, just like block pavers and other concrete products fade, but I regard the toning-down of these utility features as a plus.

Someone please tell me what I'm missing....
