MSE News: EE refunds £1m after mistakenly charging VAT on non-EU data
I was a former customer of EE (after using CISAS to terminated my contract early in September 2014, due to the 2.5% increase on my contract and receiving a refund on all bills from the date of my complaint :j) and luckily I had hard copies of the bills with the VAT charges for roaming bundles used internationally.
I emailed Francoise.Clemes@ee.co.uk (Head of Customer Service) and told them that I had been affected by the VAT blunder, gave details of the amount due back and my account number.
Within 24hours I had a call to say that my refund was on file due to be made. I am now being sent a cheque for £19.99. Not a major amount but win win all the same.
I will keep all correspondence made between myself and EE in case the cheque doesn't arrive.
