  • Morning, bright and sunny, but brrrrrrr.....its library morning. I will go to Morrisons OH will stay in the library to do some research.

Nothing much going on here. DD2 is due this afternoon, will have to sort out some cake although to be honest I really do not feel like baking, really tired again for some reason. Wish I could shake it off.
  • Morning all. Heavy frost here overnight.

Off to the GP for a blood test at lunchtime and then I think I'll take the bus into the City Centre (not too far from you MrsLWW) seeing as my car is still on loan to DD. Mind you, I'll have to pay for the bus as the goalposts were moved before I could get a bus pass!

Other than that I ought to do a bit of cleaning and hoovering - not my favourite thing.

    Have a good day everyone.
  • Good Morning everyone, very cold and frosty here this morning and the sky has 'that' look about it that says something is going to precipitate soon, but I know not what!!!

TRU 'Unto thine own self be true' is a very sensible way to live lovey, what the rest of the world thinks is irrelevant and if they can't, don't, won't accept or understand well you are still by right entitled to be who you actually are my friend!!! I don't get those comments coming my way any more as I have 'refined' my aquaintances and now only see those who accept us as we are, the rest are long gone. I find these days people are more likely to come to us for advice and information than to poke fun at us but if they do start I show them my cupboards full of home grown and processed food, open the freezer and do the same, take them up the garden to the polytunnel and open the door and then drop on them just how little we part with for utilities payments over the course of the year....... conversions have been made!!! Stand your ground and be PROUD of who and what you are!!!

I'm pleased to report that we now have a working loo and wash basin upstairs, WooHoo!!! The builder starts the tiling some time today and I think tomorrow will be the hardest day because of the plumbing being done so I'm taking that hound for his early walk and then going off on the bus for the whole day until I get a phone call to tell me it's finished. I don't have to cook tomorrow evening as we have a meal at the pub when we go to the quiz night there so I can be out for as long as it takes. Then hopefully the tiling and finishing will be done on Thursday and we can get back to normal routine. It all looks nice so far though and I'm so looking forward to being able to have a shower every day, Mmmmmm luxury!!!

Have yourselves a nice day all and stay as warm as you can, Lyn xxx.

Glad you now have working facilities - nearly said it must be a reiief
then realised it was a bit of a faux pas :o

Made DH a huge breakfast then weighed him and it looks as if he has lost a pound  so decided he is getting home made chips cooked in goose fat for lunch. I will have an open sandwich or something low carb or low fat. I did offer to donate some of my avoirdupois but sadly medical science does not seem to do fat donation as yet ;)

Reorganised the airing cupboard last night and all towels are now refolded so they are high rather than wide IYKWIM and it is easier to find certain sizes etc.

DH's birthday tomorrow so will nip out later for a nice card and might see if he fancies tea at Betty's in York as a treat. Will look at theatre or posh cinema events as well.

    Tru

I agree with you about people shoving their oar in. Strange that quiet people who have the inner resources to be happy with their own company would never dream of being so rude as to suggest to others that their inability to do so showed a lack of anything in themselves.

    Hugs to all.

Mr TA said he would have dusted but he doesn't know how to do it!!! At least he knows how to run the vacuum round so that's something!
Maybe some lessons in the gentle art of dusting are in order.:D Mr LW is very capable with a duster; we often start at opposite ends of the lounge and meet in the middle, with him doing the surfaces where the largest (and heaviest) Dragons live.:o

I find human company extremely tiring; I am incapable of making small-talk, invariably put my foot in it somehow, and frankly prefer the company of canines, as I find them easier to understand.:o

    Hi Guys,
Just got back from town. Had my eyes tested, new glasses, but not too bad £75.:T Had my nails done then got three jumpers in our local Hospice shop.

Had a new carpet put down in my sitting room yesterday. It's had laminate for 10 years, the carpet is so soft and warm!:T Much better. Also had one put in the grandchildren s' room. That was also laminate, mainly because it used to be my office:rotfl:

Had Faggots and peas last night, pasty and chips tonight.

Had snow this morning, but it didn't lay.. However, the sky is looking really dark:eek:

Hope everyone is okay. Enjoy the rest of today.
    I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Back from going to see Mom. She was on top form.... babbling away. One of the other residents was being a trouble maker yelling all the time and the other residents were yelling back.

When I get to 70, if ive not pegged it by then.... shoot me!

The girls have allowed me to take a book of photographs away from the home. Hundreds of photos my Mother had in her possession and all she has been left with is about 30. As I have very few photographs of my childhood and of my Mom and Dad I will be scanning them and keeping them. Then I will return the book for Mom to look at.

I'll have to scan them properly though.

  • Oh JUDI NO NO NO!!! He who knows is 70 in Friday but we stopped counting many years ago and possibly as a result nothing we do has changed, it might take a few minutes longer but we still do it ALL!!! We just carry on and never say I can't and it works well my dear, it's just numbers as the years go by and that's all it is you're still the same person, that doesn't change and I hope never will.
