Hi thanks I will try the suggestions you all mentioned, this is very stressful, because the right people whom I need to speak to are uncontactable.0

The error is someone has read the information incorrectly & added extra sums that I am not actually getting, which in turn is making me go below the breadline & with council tax & rent being priority bills, I'm current struggling to support myself & my children, because of them thinking I earn x amount of money that I don't.0

Just to clarify why I asked about the mileage being shown separately on the payslips - my daughter worked in the same job as the OP a few years ago. At the time, she still lived at home. As I receive income support, and my daughter was earning, there was an amount of council tax to pay (I think it was called the non-dependant rate, but that isn't really relevant here). Anyway, her wages were different each week and we had to take in her pay slips regularly. I think the council staff deducted the travel expenses as they were not wages earned or taxable income. I can't remember the details, but I seem to remember that the staff had to get a calculator out each time we took in pay slips, to work out the amount earned.0

The milage is seperate and states it is milage at the rate set by the employer. However that isn't the major issue, their is £82 on my claim per week that I do not get which makes it seem I am earning more than I actually get.0

Hopefully housing benefit officer will be around soon.
I was just pointing out we do have people like yourself on this board with professional and factually correct advice for various benefits...0 -

Ask them to show you how they arrived at the income figure that they have- set out in writing. Then you will know where the problem is. Where I work cases like yours actually have a sheet indexed to the claim so other staff can see how the assessor came to the figures they have used.0

After months of telling people in the benefits contact centre that their calculations must be wrong I have discovered that the have put roughly £82 extra as earnt income on my housing benefits claim and for months now I've been paying near enough full rent and financially struggling in the process. My council tax bill has also been maximum.
Was that by phone or actual meetings. If by phone then arrange to go in and see them with the figures, I've found with my council that any mistakes are dealt with far better by a face to face chat. It's someone else's fault.0 -
£82 sounds about right for WTC. Is the £82 in addition to your Wtc.Tomorrow is the most important thing in life0

That's an additional sum, I get roughly £205 child tax (childcare element) & £80 working tax, including 30 hr premium.
But according to the benefits team, it's £82 for 30hr premium, that usually on works out at about £15 per week.0
