OFT/CMA/BERR - Who to contact

They have ignored my screen shots and the emails I forwarded onto them, hence I want to report them.
I see - even when you contact them via Facebook?
I'd guess the Civil Aviation Authority would be the body to complain to - not that it will benefit you in the slightest to do so.0 -
OMG!
I've been on their website, noticed they now do flights from MAN, and I have beaten them at their own game. I paid the exact same price £1600 to upgrade all 3 of us to Business Class I also have confirmation of upgraded tickets and receipt flying Business Class from Manchester Airport.
FINALLY SOME GOOD NEWS! YAaaaaay!0 -
Maybe you should ask questions without being insulting!
I've kept an eye on the website, I clear my Cache/cookies, when I log back onto their website it recognises that I'm a NEW customer as opposed to a returning customer.
I have been trying to upgrade over the last month and I keep getting the same price with Cache/Cookies cleared, at different times. Seats are STILL available.
How have I been insulting, you OP was unclear and I asked for clarification.
You latest post makes things even more unclear ?????
A new customer can't see upgrade pricing for passengers with existing tickets.
Where are you getting figures from that make you think you can upgrade your existing ticket for £1,6XX
You can't just subtract an current economy fare from a current business fare and call it an upgrade price, you also can't subtract the price paid for your existing ticket from a current business fare to reach an upgrade figure.
You have to keep in mind that the ticketing side of things is very complex, and is also dynamic.
If everyone on a train travelling from A-B wrote down how much they paid for their tickets you'd only get a dozen or so different prices, repeat the same exercise on an aircraft and it's quite possible that you would end up with several hundred different prices.
There's plenty of folks on here who have a reasonable understanding of airlines and their ticketing practices, but without specifics it makes it really difficult to offer any useful advice.0 -
The figure of £16XX is displayed on their website as the price to upgrade for all 3 in big bold letters, not by me subtracting anything. I was not subtracting anything from anything, I was trying to avoid paying over £3K to upgrade.
Never mind.......I've now upgraded to Business Class only paying an additional £16XX as opposed to the £3600 I didn't want to pay....HAPPY DAYS, PLUS the flights from MAN are on Airbus! SCORE!!!!0 -
Yes I've been reissued electronic tickets, which I've now saved. YAY0

So you were seeing the price when you were actually logged into your EK account
And the whole cookies/cache clearing NEW CUSTOMER was just another smokescreen :T:T:T0 -

Erm....so from whence were you flying in the first place if not MAN?
You write "they now do flights from MAN". So if your flights were from another place, did you cancel them and then buy tickets from MAN??
I think a few people are confused about your writings.0 -

Birmingham.
Aside from the clarification of how much they had told Emirates and what they had replied to him, it makes perfect sense. It's beyond me why so many of you are struggling to understand it...
They tried to upgrade their flights from Birmingham, saw a quoted price of £1600 but it didn't let them process it. On the phone they wanted £3000. To me, that looks like availability in the lower fare buckets had run out so Emirates upped the upgrade price, but the website hadn't updated for some reason.
They then got a quote to upgrade to a flight leaving from Manchester (presumably Emirates let you switch airports when upgrading) and that processed correctly at £1600.
What don't you understand?0 -
Callum THANK YOU! That is exactly what happened!
Yes I'm still flying with Emirates but from MAN now.0
