I wonder if anyone could help me?
My moto g phone charger port has developed some sort of problem and wont accept the charger.
It's now completely out of battery but before I put it in to be repaired I want to remove the gmail account that is on it. Is it possible to do this? I would appreciate any advise thanks

Log into gmail and in the account section you can view an activity log. In there is an option to sign out of all sessions. I would personally also change my pw but then I'm paranoid.0

"I think" from memory , you will have to do a factory reinstall and skip the email account when restarting , I think you have to have one default account
this is no help to you , as you have a flat battery0 -
Thanks for the replys....I agree it will be important to change passwords....what I am worried about is the. Info that is on the handset..e.g. I was given Tom Tom with lifetime maps as present and the log ins and passwords are on the handset.
Is it possible that by signing out of all accounts that the phone will no longer be able to access the account or is it that messages already received will be on it? Sorry if silly question but I don't know.0 -
Stuff like Gmail, Outlook etc, Facebook, change your passwords, and when they next try to access your account they will request a password. I assume you can manage your TomTom account online and change the password etc.
How are you getting your phone repaired? Sending it to Motorola or taking it into your network shop? If the latter you could ask to borrow a battery from a demo phone to power up your phone and do a full reset? Or buy a battery and use it as a spare for when you get your phone back. Also, are you 100% sure its the usb port that's knackered and not the charger?0 -
logging out might do it , first thoughts were is the "remember password" box was ticked on the phone
log in from a PC , and reset the password , and to be safe for a day or 3 set it not to remember password0 -
I was going to take to local repair shop as it's just over wear old.
Yes It's definitely the port as I have used a friends lead and had trouble getting it into the phone port as well.
I will take your advise on passwords right away and make sure the tom tom detail is changed before I hand over the phone. It's a disaster, but thanks for your advise.0 -
Its not a disaster. If you don't want to change all your passwords just borrow or buy a battery and do a reset.0

Perhaps the OP is competent to do this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bv5C0axnGIw0 -
