can my landlord take me to county court in this case?

I owe my awful landlord rent and that amount of rent is more than the amount of the security deposit, but I am leaving the UK soon as I am not living here any more.
my question is: can my landlord still take me to county court as I won't have a UK address or any other UK connections any more? I am living abroad.

He can still take you to court and if you don't respond then will more than likely you will have a CCJ applied. Do you need to come back to the UK in the future?
Why can't/don't you pay what you owe?0 -
Yes ofcourse he can.
And you'll get a Ccj.
How is he to know that you have emigrated?0 -
Depends where you are. Some countries are more cooperative than others.0

But neither the landlord nor the court knows my address overseas, they don't have any address to correspond with me. They won't get any money back from me, will they?0
-
Yes, he can use your current address and issue court papers.
Don't know if a CCJ issued in the UK will effect you in Europe, I hope so."Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0 -
