Unless you know the OP you can't possibly know that. Any item can hold enormous sentimental value and that value is placed on it by the owner. What you value as important might be completely different to anyone else and how someone reacts is entirely a matter for them.

OP, good luck with the bag.

Absolutely. If the thread had maybe been about an antique ring, passed down through the family from the estate of a deceased relative, that had been damaged by a jeweller cleaning it then I doubt the OP would have got the snarky comments.

As soon as it's about a material possession, like a bag then all empathy goes out the window.

I have a decent collection of Mulberry bags, one or two are much more precious than others as they were either gifts from very special people or bought from inheritance money. It's not just about the actual bag.
The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.

  • I intend to speak to Mulberry and see if they can do anything

Hopefully they can, though cant say I've seen people discussing it unlike Herm!s etc

Can you post a photo of the condition to see how bad it is?
  • How do you post pics?

    How do you post pics?

Upload your pic to a pic hosting website... e,g. photobucket... there are many others.

Then post the link supplied by the hosting site.
  • I don't use any sites like that. Are there any where you don't have to join?

    Not sure - tinypic?
  • Please understand, I do know the bag was very dirty before sending and I didn't expect miracles but it certainly wasn't like this and the bag itself is now really quite stiff.
