As for the bag I believe that if you wish to take it any further you need to give them the chance to make redemption on any issues. The fact they have said they will take it back (make sure its FOC) goes in their favour if you refuse and take it to small claims etc.Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -

There is absolutely no way they are having my bag back. I don't know about you but I wouldn't stick my hand in a fire twice.0

Charity work perhaps? Might help to give you some perspective about your traumatised handbag0 -

As I say the money is irrelevant, I'm just hoping Mulberry can rectify the mess. However, I'm quite annoyed at their 'blame everyone else, especially the customer' attitude. They are denying anything is wrong and for that, I'm not letting this lie.0 -

I don't feel the need to bare my soul but yes, the person who gave it to me has passed away.0 -
Open forum, and my point is valid, you are completely overreacting about a handbag.
Unless you know the OP you can't possibly know that. Any item can hold enormous sentimental value and that value is placed on it by the owner. What you value as important might be completely different to anyone else and how someone reacts is entirely a matter for them.
OP, good luck with the bag.0
