It isnt, i'm not sure where you got this £300 figure from - Halifax credit cards have a £500/day withdrawal limit.0 -
I have been the victim of ATM theft on my credit card to the tune of 4.5k.Yes, happened over a consecutive 8 day period with 25 transactions, peaking at 4 a day on one day.Halifax credit cards have a £500/day withdrawal limit.
Even if the person(s), over the course of eight days, did withdraw right up to the maximum daily limit of £500, that makes it £4k and leaves an additional £500 still unaccounted.0 -
Reportedly, daily cash limits are less strict than we think.0
-
My suspicion falls on the Bank - someone in the Halifax has undertaken this theft.

An "8 day period" will encompass 9 daily withdrawal limits of £500. First withdrawal can be made just before midnight, last withdrawal just after midnight.
Why are people giving the OP such a hard time here?Optimists see a glass half full
Pessimists see a glass half empty
Engineers just see a glass twice the size it needed to be0 -
The withdrawals were made - in the main - slightly before midnight and just after midnight. Well spotted to the one individual ....0

Wow.
Yes, it is plausible. Don't forget, if they collude internally, anything is possible0 -
This seems to have been going on for some time.
Are these Chip and PIN withdrawls? Maybe you've already answered that and I missed it.0 -
Yes, they are C&P ATM withdrawals.0

Yes, they are C&P ATM withdrawals.
IIRC there was an item on TV about this sort of thing a while ago. Maybe Watchdog or Panorama?
Apparently, the 'chip' has some sort of counter. Presumably this should tally with the number of times it's been used.
IIRC, again, there were cases of banks backing down and customers receiving refunds after it had been shown their card wasn't used for cashmachine transactions.
It appears that Chip and PIN isn't 100% secure, however it's believed the effort needed to break it isn't worth the trouble.
http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-19559124:In a statement given to the BBC, a spokeswoman for the UK's Financial Fraud Action group said: "We've never claimed that chip and pin is 100% secure and the industry has successfully adopted a multi-layered approach to detecting any newly-identified types of fraud."0
