Freehold and land registry

  • I had just been asking for an update, this is only our second house purchase and the first one was much smoother so we're pretty clueless! Thank you for the questions, I will ring on Monday and be more specific!
  • Another update/moan...I emailed land registry as suggested, only to receive an email this morning saying there had been no documents submitted for that address. I rang my solicitor, who contacted the vendors solicitor, who admitted the documents had only been sent on Friday despite saying 3 weeks ago that they had been sent! Beginning to feel like this will never end!

Sorry to put this here, but how do you find out the owner of a property via Land registry? I know th full address, but very far from my current area, hence formal letter.

Is there a request contact number or do you have to pay a fee?

Nothing sinister, I would like to get in touch with a vendor without going through the agents.

Thought it would be better than just knocking and don't want agents to see mail etc. It's not a journey distance I can just do at will.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated too if offered.

    TIA

jhoney - the online service should give you the ownership details for a registered property address.

It's the register you would need to view/download for £3 if the property is registered in England or Wales
