But why take shopping into lounge first would it not be easier to unload directly in kitchen?
That'd depend on the layout of the house. If the shopping's on the porch and the living room is adjoined to the porch or a dinky hallway, it'd make sense to get all the shopping into the living room, then close the front door. Then you come into the living room and bring the stuff through from there to the kitchen. The alternative would be to leave your front door open while you're doing the whole journey, letting in the cold and having the house insecure where you can't see the open doorway.... and the child might have run off, or the non-existant dog might have run off.
I bring my stuff into my living room, then lock up the car, then come inside and lock the door behind me.... then take the stuff through to the kitchen.0 -
Our home shopping is delivered to our front door. To get it to the kitchen we need to carry it through the living room and dining room.0
