Hotels.com discount code con

Got a 10% discount code for hotels.com but when I went through the booking process and got to the payments page there's nowhere to enter it! There's a notice saying "Sorry, but you cannot redeem coupons or Welcome Rewards™ nights for this booking." so I don't know if 'coupons' includes any discount code but the email I got said it applied to all bookings made before midnight tonight. Had to go ahead anyway cos I'd booked my flight so missed out on a discount which would have more or less paid for my flight. It was the discount that was the catalyst to me booking this break so I feel duped.

The last few codes they've sent me have blocked TopCashback income and free night promotion. Which, combined, are worth more than 10%.0

For the 1st time today, I noticed, we couldn;t use a 10% disc code. It's for a hotel in Geneva and can only be paid for at the hotel. Perhaps that is why.
Also used one today for a Florida hotel today and that worked OKLoved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0 -

10% codes don't qualify for Welcome Rewards and only some hotels qualify for the discount.
When you search on hotels.com if the listing for that hotel says sae 10% on this stay then it applies, but alot of the big brands the discounts don't work on...
To be honest, I don't use the vouchers, instead taking the cashback which is the same as a voucher and then get the free nights...0 -
There's two typical occasions where you cant use Hotels.com discount codes
1) Where you are paying the hotel direct. Hotels.com have relatively recently started doing bookings where you pay the hotel. In this case they can't offer the discount because all payment is between you and the hotel directly.
2) Big chains. Most chain hotels are excluded because the brand have strict pricing controls. This is usually because the brand themselves offer a "Best Rate Guarantee" via their own sites so the contract with Hotels.com (and other) will exclude them from underselling. This list of chains that do this is quite impressive.
I suspect the email they sent you would have had T&C's somewhere, or at least a link to them. I always do a "dummy" booking when using hotels.com right up to the point you enter the code to double check if it works for a particular hotel.0 -

The discount code is something that is applied after you select the room. It does not say "save 10%" on the site.
I went through TCB today, getting 8%, the hotel price, then had a 10% code applied to it.Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0 -

The new blue bars under each hotel listing can contain different messages, they had 10% codes on the hotels it applied to up until Friday/Saturday when they were replaced with the current 15% of tours message (or 31% off three attractions in New York).
This feature has only just appeared.
Quidco and TCB aren't showing any discount codes at the moment - you might have had the 10% applied to your booking, but as per TCB and Quidco the chances of the cashback paying out is at risk.0 -

I find the ebookers codes much better. I often get 15 or even 20% from themtravelover0

The best bet is to use hotelscombined.com to find the best price from the hotel sites and then go to cashback and get it direct...
Compares all in one place easily...0
