Vodafone Customer Care

My iphone wouldn't turn on one day after 16 months of use. Apple say the phone has "failed" and that it would cost me £200 for a replacement. I still have 8 months to run on my contract so I went back to the shop I bought it from. I have never experienced such a poor customer service, Vodafone told me that there was nothing that they could do and that it was up to me to sort out a device so I could use the rest of my contract. When they sold me the contract they went on at great lengths about their customer service. I would urge people thinking about a new contract phone to avoid this company as I have seen many similar stories.

When it comes to iPhones Vodafone are no different from other providers, so you'd better urge people avoiding Apple or paying through the nose for their 'Apple care'.
After 6 months the onus lies on you to prove that the fault isn't a result of misuse or damage, and you have to jump through hoops to enforce your rights under the SoGA: Consumer Rights
Get an independent engineer's report and then sue Voda through the Small Claims Court if they refuse to repair or replace: Small Claims Court0 -
Thanks for the advice, I'm not sure how I would get and independent engineers report. Apple did tell me that there was no obvious physical or water damage but they did not give me this in writing. I have emailed Voda a complaint but going on my earlier experience I do not anticipate much help from them.0
