How many NPB strikes does it take?

Out of the last 10 items I've sold recently, 3 people have decided not to pay and ignored all contact. Looking at their feedback one of them had about 10 feedback saying 'never paid, avoid etc'. Just how many does it take for someone to be booted off ebay? And why even bid on an item if you're not going to pay?

i agree, it's so frustrating. I've just had a BIN bought, 24hrs later and it's still not paid for. I'd understand if the buyer was an infrequent ebayer, but they're a seller themselves with over a thousand feedback ! It just makes no sense"Science is a wonderful thing if one does not have to earn one's living at it" Einstein 19510

If they have feedback saying 'never paid, avoid etc',then they haven't got a strike because the sellers never opened NPB cases.
I do hope you opened NPB on your 3 bidders.
If you set your preferences to block bidders with 2 or more strikes they cannot bid on your items so you don't even see them except on your bbl.0 -

no, not at all. It's a BIN item, so why commit to buy before you're ready to pay ?"Science is a wonderful thing if one does not have to earn one's living at it" Einstein 19510 -
As above, you can block people from buying your auctions or BINs if they have 2 or more strikes in the past year. However, those sellers that decide to leave false positives instead mean these buyers can get round the blocks. So if nothing else, can we please spread the message that non payers should have a full NPB done on them and NO feedback left.
As for speed of payment, it really doesn't pay to be impatient on eBay it just gets stressful- there is nothing at all that can be done until day 2 anyway so wait it out.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. It's a BIN which means Buy It Now, not BIL, Buy It Later.

It's not that I'm necessarily impatient, more frustrated as I don't understand the mentality behind purchasing a BIN only to not carry on with the purchase. If you want it, buy it. If you change your mind, drop me a message, just don't leave the purchase hanging !usefulmale wrote: »It's a BIN which means Buy It Now, not BIL, Buy It Later.

great minds & all that - just been going through my listings as I had thought all of them were marked for immediate payment. The few that weren't have now been updated."Science is a wonderful thing if one does not have to earn one's living at it" Einstein 19510 -

Can I just add that if you have a "Accept Best Offer" on your listing and someone "wins" using the "Accept Best Offer" then it disables the "Instant Payment Required" and they can pay virtually when they please..."Silence, Reverend Supermarket"0 -

It cannot work any other way as the best offer is sent to the seller who has 48 hours to decline or accept. The buyer is not expected to sit at their PC for those 48 hours poised and ready to pay.
Also, sellers can open an NPB as early as 2 days after purchase and it can be closed exactly 4 days after that- so an impatient seller only has to wait 6 days before they can reclaim their fees and relist.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. If the seller has the "accept best offer" set to automatically accept the offer between a maximum & minimum amount that the seller puts in then again that disables the "immediate payment required". I had this happen to me once and waited a day or two for the seller to pay so I don't use it anymore.
