I bought this machine today at the NEC from Pink Frog for £110 with a free embossing mat and £30 worth of free Britannia dies. I did try the machine on the stall and it cut an intricate die and embossed easily. Since getting home I've tried the free dies I chose which are greetings from Brittania and they have cut easily too. I'm really pleased with the price.0

I should mention that they also had a starter kit with free dies and embossing folder at £165.0

Adena54, you got a real bargain. I've looked on their website and the offer is on there for £130, still a bargain, but yours was £20 cheaper! Is the free embossing mat small, or were you lucky and got A4 size?
We visited Hobbycraft in Preston yesterday and they now have the £120 machine for sale. I was wishing I'd waited and not ordered online, but my machine was delivered today.
I should imagine the clear cutting plates will cost a bob or two to replace, they're ginormous.
I'm thinking of sometimes using smaller clear cutting plates, (turned sideways, less turns of the handle,) if I'm just cutting a few smaller dies. Then my big plates will last longer.

Can someone who has this new machine give me the footprint for it please as I want to make sure I've got room for it, along with everything else, thanks.
Also would you say it's light enough to lift about as opposed to the Big Shot Pro which is far too heavy to move around.0 -
The footprint is approx 15 3/4" long x approx 15 3/4" wide. (including the handle.)
I've just weighed it on my bathroom scales (which may or may not be weighing right ) and without the plates it weighed approx. 10lb. (so, 2 bags of spuds! ) Maybe someone else can weigh their machine to see if i'm right. I think the Plus is light enough to move around.
My ordinary (pink and black) Big shot weighed approx 7 1/2 lb.0 -
That's really helpful thanks Battybird0

I have just taken delivery of my new machine! Whoop!! Whoop!!
Can't unpack and play with it yet tho cos I'm at work
I have never owned a die cutting machine before so would be grateful for any tips and advice.
Also what brands of dies and embossing folders could be recommended/avoided?
Also are there any websites that could be recommended for reasonably priced dies?
Thanks in advance0 -
Not impressed! Just tried to attach the handle to the machine and the screw has sheered off!!!0

Oh heck. I'd ring Sizzix uk. I believe Sizzix are very good with customer service. There's a phone number in your instruction leaflet.0 -
Thanks Battybird. I have emailed them and also the website I purchased it from. I was so looking forward to playing with my new machine.
Will give you an update when I have some news.0
