Hello - Back in 2013 i missed a 2 payments on my phone 4 u contract and resulted in a debt being created for £200 , This was record as a default ( repaid after 2 months).
My issue is that I can not now renew my mortgage deal for this small amount that occurred years ago. the punishment doesnt seem to fit the crime
I have rang vodaphone who are quite heartless and will not remove the notice.
Does any one have any advise on how to remove it ?

There's no need to renew your mortgage. No one is going to take it away from you.
Why couldn't you pay your phone bill? That's the concern any lender will have.0 -

Vodafone are braking the old ICO guidelines. http://webarchive.nationalarchives.gov.uk/20100428141142/http://ico.gov.uk/upload/documents/library/data_protection/detailed_specialist_guides/default_tgn_version_v3%20%20doc.pdf11 Time framework
Although there will be some flexibility in the definition of a breakdown, we believe there should be general rules for the minimum period of arrears which should exist before a default can be filed. Equally there should be a maximum period after which, if anything is to be recorded with a credit reference agency, a default must be filed. The following are in line with the practices currently adopted by most lenders.
Quote:
• Accounts should not be routinely filed as being in default where full payments or those due under a rescheduled agreement are fewer than three consecutive months in arrears.
• Accounts should normally be filed as being in default where those payments due have not been received for six months.
This time framework only relates to filing defaults. It does not affect the lenders’ ability to continue to report accurately on the extent of arrears using monthly status codes. We recognise that may not always be appropriate for products which advance credit over either a very short or very long-term.Still rolling rolling rolling......<

It does seem unduly hasty and disproportionate. A credit card might put up with a year or two or three of agreeing reduced arrangements and seeing them slip before reaching recording a default. Its an accurate picture of your credit history as it should be.
It's a late payment, not a default0 -
Thanks Redux ,
Yes , They have their money and i have never had any issue uptill that pooint was again due to being mis infomred - I have only had poor customer service and communication issue with Vodafone .
Hence the above comment.
I just feel its a bit of a harsh pently vs its implications for the next 6 years ! Just asking vodaphone to have a heart0
