BT Line Rental Saver and Increase prices

Hi.

I've just had my BT and I've just notice they have charged me the difference between the increase price on their line rental price and my Line Rental Saver (pay in advance). 55p per month.

Is this this right and can they do this, because I thought the whole idea of paying a whole year in advance is you save money and also you don't hit by any price increase for that year?

I can't contact BT at the moment, as their chat system isn't on and this is the only way I can communicate as I've a speech problem. Hence the reason I'm on here trying to find out if this is right or fare.

BT seems to be a law unto itself at the moment. I think they dropped a huge financial clanger with BT Sport and they are trying to claw back every single penny they can by raising prices.

Like you, I was under the impression that if you paid full upfront you were protected from line rental increases. I know that is the case with Plusnet but it really wouldn't surprise me if it isn't the case with BT. Like I said, they've got to pay for BT Sport somehow.

Is it marked as line rental this 55p or is it for one of the other services that have had a price rise .

I pay BT line rental saver in advance(last payment was Sept 14) and I have certainly not been charged extra.

    Hi Cardew,
Thanks for your reply. Aye I know about the chat system, but thanks anyway. The problem is the chat system is not available at the weekend for some reason as I've been told by @BTCare
