  • As an end date comper I quite like and appreciate the winner announced comments! It saves me time then going into the comp, and I can just click on expired to get it cleared from the board! Also I agree with Marg2k8....once I've looked at a thread I will either Red Cross or green tick it so won't need to back into it again regardless if it's been bumped!

    I would title them as

    E: 22/01 WIN £8,000 - DRAW 1
    E: 29/01 WIN £8,000 - DRAW 2 (Opens 24/01)
    E: 05/02 WIN £8,000 - DRAW 3 (Opens 31/01)
Cheers, I'll try to remember that.

I apologise - I must have been annoying you all. I was trying to help when I go to a comp on the closing day (usually a RT on twitter) where if you go to the twitter feed you can see that the winner has already been announced. I would then post the winning tweet so other compers would save time by not clicking through to twitter and retweeting an expired tweet, plus more people would press the expired button on the thread.

That's exactly what I do - I think it's useful so that other people don't enter something that has already closed.

A post was made here by weeowens earlier today so perhaps you should direct this towards them?

There's nothing worse than opening a link and finding a competition has finished early.

So it's good to know it's finished, and obviously if that's the situation I'd click expire, as well as note it's closed on the thread to alert others.

Not everyone has the time to do days ahead, so it's helpful to those with limited time to avoid them...
