PARKRUN - The only time the ladies chase me!
I've changed my facebook username to NOBODY so when I enter FB comps I press the "Like" button it will say NOBODY likes this0 -

Rest assured that I am not marketing for any company. In fact I have refused a few offers to post comps for some sites.
I have been offered gifts in the past to post some site's comps but have never done so.
Plus I do not tend to tell lies on this forum & neither do I use other comp portals to have a "dig" at MSE members via a signature on that comp portal.I also do not edit posts after the event to replicate other member's posts.
I also do not post in "I won" & lie re the "origin" of my win.In fact I very rarely post in "I won" as I win so little :-)
In conclusion I see myself as honest & above board but welcome other offers.Of course I can provide a full defence re the other "digs" :-)0 -
PS: I do win sometimes but do not post the win to " I won".
Just my way but I do often pm the OP re the win.0 -
You have a right to privacy and much respect to you. I've never doubted you for a second weeowens. You're a stippler for accuracy like me.
I sense these warm up periods for comps are just an agency trying to actively create excitement. They do it many areas of marking so it would make sense to use a tried and tested method. I often forget how my sarcasm can be received.
When I open tabs each day I find those not yet open become a extra task of dragging back to the appropriate folder. Hardly hard work. My moan earlier was actually just part of the silly mood I'd been in all day and apologies if you felt the need to defend yourself.

Often it may be the way forward?
I did say that it was not ideal but any suggestions re a better way to post is welcome.
E: 05/02 WIN £8,000 (not open yet)
E: 29/01 WIN £8,000 (not open yet)
E: 22/01 win £8,000
I would title them as
E: 22/01 WIN £8,000 - DRAW 1
E: 29/01 WIN £8,000 - DRAW 2 (Opens 24/01)
E: 05/02 WIN £8,000 - DRAW 3 (Opens 31/01)Yes, I know there is no "R" in the word dream in my username - it was setup in memory of my grandson :A0 -
Ah did not see the content of the 1st Asda comp post until now. My original comment was about the 'trend' not these posts in particular. In fact I hadn't seen until weeowens told us in this thread. Can see why you did that format from the feedback but I am not sure it's representative? As it currently stands I no clue which of those posts I would need to delete from my bookmarks and which was next.
The way the posts are written meant I missed the draw for the 16/01. Or was that already drawn anyway? I personally feel it creates a silly extra amount of work for the original poster of such a comp to extract out one for each draw. Same site, same link, same terms. Just a rolling draw date.
Think of it operating as the advents do. Drag it into a weekly bookmarks folder? When someone posts that the new draw is open and you have not thanked them you know you have not entered. ONE post and multiple draws can and does work well.“We are not interested in the fact that the brain has the consistency of cold porridge.” - Alan Turing (1912-1954)0 -
I subscribe to those thread as well as put them into a weekly recheck folder, so I try to cover myself both ways.#JusticeForGrenfell0

Drives me mad too! The number of times I click on a comp, the page comes up and says its closed, then I see a winner annoucement below the first post, its just daft.
I just click expired!I just enter and forget...hoping to win something!0 -
I'm guessing this is a bit about me since I updated my Nixon Watch comp yesterday after it had closed.
I did update the title to say "game over" since it was a guessendate comp and I also added a post with the winners name. I figured people might appreciate this since it was a FB comp and wasn't tagged to the winner, but that's fine. I also hit Expired on the post, but it takes a couple of different users to Expire it before it actually happens?, so if it's bumped more people will see it and get it expired faster?
But ok, I hear you.0 -
It has mildly irritated me on occasions, I don't mind them doing it if a competition has finished early or as with the OK comps completely disappearing. as it gets them off the board quickly. I have bumped threads myself in order to remove them quickly, always stating that I have clicked the expired button.0
