....but you didn't connect with your old address!0

Anyway, if you're no longer worried then that's fine0

It's quite possible they're chasing the wrong person. Sometimes the people who work for these agencies have difficultly understanding that there might be more than one John Smith in town."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0

I decided to phone BG today and they said there is a debt on a property that I lived 10 years ago but it isn't for any gas that has been used during that period it is for a standing charge that they decided to activate November 2014. They said they sent it to a debt collector because I wouldn't talk to them on the phone. I was put through to the home moving team and told them I sold the property in 2004 so they said ok we will remove my name from the record. I'm hoping I won't called by the debt collector again. How ridiculous are British Gas0

Sounds to be sorted then. Keep an eye on your credit files (including old address) for next couple of months, as they don't always report straight away (usually monthly) and something may still appear if they have wrongly associated your name with this 'debt'.0 -
DO NOT LET THEM IN and keep doors & windows shut.0
