I drove to Prague for a business meeting once. Overnight on the ferry, then flat out across Germany. Just under 1,000 miles each way.

This was in the days when you paid less tax on a company car if you achieved a certain number of miles.

'In one go' doesn't really work for me, as I tend to stop every 2-3 hours for a pee and a walk about.

In one day, it would be about 700: Pembs to Lincs, take kids out for the day, Lincs to Pembs. The perils of being the non-resident parent.

In one journey, it would be 570 on an ex-Police Honda Pan European, from Melderslo in the Netherlands to Pembs, including 30 mins in the Tunnel. Five countries in one day. That was hard work. Never again.

Lincs > Truro, Cornwall for me.

But I'll be doing Lincs > Isle of Skye next month so that'll dwarf it.

    To Australia.

Although, to be fair, the ship did most of the journey.

Glasgow to Muscat in Oman, also did Aberdeen to Marrakech and Aberdeen to Budapest. All return journeys of course but not all in the same car.
  • About 170 miles non-stop from Northumberland to Manchester then back again next day.

In one trip, around 6000 miles, from North Spain to Denmark via France, Italy, Austria, Lichtenstein, Switzerland and Germany. It did take 2 months though. I had to replace one tyre in Switzerland, and the clutch cable broke in Italy, the VW garage I managed to drive to without a clutch weren't able to get a RHD Golf cable locally so they bodged it and it lasted fine until I got back to the UK.

I regularly drive from wherever I happen to be living in Scotland to Gloucestershire, or the reverse journey, in one day - currently about 400 miles.
