If it's for a job application, i'd strongly consider not applying, a company that has that level of bureaucracy combined with idiocracy, would probably be hellish to work for.
Be prepared for a surprise next time you apply for a job. Most agencies require CVs to be submitted in .pdf form. Most corporates don't accept direct applicants and insist on going via an agency for initial screening. The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -

But that's not the issue that Strider's complaining about. Submitting a CV as a PDF is straightforward as it's just a different save option from most word processing software. The issue is forms that are provided in PDF format that have to be completed by the end user but that the provider can't be arzed to take the time to make updateable or requires an unnecessary signature.0 -
Hey, thanks! I've been trying to think of a way to slow things down when a customer requests a refund. This method seems ideal.

There are many forms (for example, job applications) that have a space for a signature, I always leave these blank as the form can be signed on being offered the job if it's really necessary. But if there was an insistence on it being signed then the rigmarole of printing and scanning would be necessary, and yes, in my opinion, in many instances it makes no difference whether the signature is there or not.0 -

That may be your experience, but it still begs the question of why they would think a signature adds any value to an application form, perhaps you can enlighten us as you seem to have all the answers?0 -

On many application forms there will be some kind of legal statement, even if it is just "the above isn't a load of fairy tails". A signature is a way of confirming this, a tick box just doesn't do the job. Failing to sign just shows you are not capable or unwilling to follow what is being asked of you.0 -

Explain to me why a tick box doesn't do the job when it is what is used in many other situations? Requiring a signature is just a hang over from the days when people did mail forms in, and shows that the organisation is living in the past. If they really want more verification than a tick box then they should be able to implement an electronic signature.0 -

A signature confirms that the person did it by him/herself, a tick box confirms that some person did it.0
