i have used the Kodak/Sony ones you get in packs of 12 from Poundland and even the Duracell ones they sell in packs of 2, but the Duracell ones only last 24 hours more than the cheaper ones

This is purely speculation, but there's the possibility Duracell manufacture a (lower) Poundland-spec battery... the same way that Iceland are the only retailer in the UK to sell 'special' 3-litre bottles of Coca-Cola.

The Kodak batteries are made under license, so don't let them lead you into thinking the brand has any impact on the quality/usefulness of the batteries.

I never mentioned anything out the quality of the batteries i have just answering your question on what brands i use.

The Duracell twin packs used to be sold at Argos, most supermarkets until they appeared in poundland, but if you look in poundland you will find a lot of reduced sized items to what you would get elsewhere, but at the same time you will find some items cheaper elsewhere.

so some things in poundland that are dearer elsewhere will be subsidised with items in poundland that are cheaper elsewhere. I can even go to poundland and get products cheaper than i can from my wholesalers
