Well, nothing stops you from trying. You'll wait if they say that you have to.

If Vodafone has told you to go ahead and complain to the Ombudsman, ask them to provide a letter stating this - it's called a deadlock letter and it will allow you to complain to the Ombudsman before the eight week requirement. Or just wait until eight weeks have passed if there's not long left. If you submit it before the eight weeks are up, you might get a response stating that they can't accept the complaint and to resubmit at the right time.
  • I am raising a complaint to the Ombudsman about Vodafone for a number of reasons:

    1. I renewed 4 contracts on 4GB of data per month yet on the billing it says only 2GB of data. When I questioned this they said their information was correct and I was wrong. I did not and would not renew for only 2GB of data per month.

    2. They continually bill me for data which has NOT been used and state their records are correct.

I think this is a general scam, similar to PPI miss-selling, Vodafone raise invoices for data usage which has not been used.

    Anyone else had this experience?

Yes Tony I have had a similar issue. Just upgraded two phones and went onto Red+ giving me 10gb data over three phones. However, when I started getting texts to say we had used our data limit it appears they have given us 6gb across the three phones. We were already using 9gb over the three phones so I wouldn't have gone down to 6gb. I'm getting nowhere!!!
  • Hi, I'm in the same boat in that what I was told I was getting was not what I got. The also didn't send the letter to allow me to review the upgrade and a subsequent request for one still failed to produce a letter. So when I took up the complaint the fourteen day cool off had expired so they said they can do nothing. Having spent near enough twelve hours talking to most of India I am now dealing via the eforum, currently I have been escalated to a senior manager. Should he not resolve the issue I will ask for further escalation of that is refused it will be the dead lock letter. I refuse to accept such rubbish customer service considering I have been a customer for over twenty years. They used to have very good teams on customer service, those days are long gone!

  • Why people still join Vodafone when this forum shows them for the rubbish outfit they are I don't know. I can only assume the majority of their customers don't use MSE

Because none of the other companies are much better?

For every customer that complains how many have no issues? Maybe
I have been lucky i know people on Orange/EE where they lost their numbers
during upgrades and had no network for several days.

And there's me on the verge of changing to Life who use the EE network unless
Voda offer me a brilliant deal. Not holding my breath on that.
