Home Bargains, B&M, Savers, Semi CHem, Bodycare should have bottles of branded ones like Nivea at around £5.
I've got a bottle of Aldi stuff (is it Lacura or similar name), the spray one, Factor 15, from last summer. Going to take it to Thailand next week. I've also bought lidl's Cien cream - it comes in quite a small tube so I take it around in my handbag abroad and it seems to work ok.
I'm a wee bit brand fussy, however I'll use anything that I think will work and smells 'neutral' enough. I don't like the smell of coconut so that rules a couple of brands out.0 -

"unnecessarily fussy"?
Really? :rotfl:
You have no idea what skin issues other people may have.
And the place I holiday in twice a year has a reputation for selling fake suncream, this has been discussed widely on Tripadvisor.
Apart from that, you don't know how the stuff bought abroad has been kept.
I've seen suncream in dusty bottles in old rusty racks out in the full sun in Greece & Turkey.
Do you think that would still be as effective as it should be?
I'll stick to buying my suncream, here in the UK, knowing it suits my skin and that there is probably a decent turnover so it hasn't been sat on a shelf for years.
But then again, I take my skin and the possibility of skin cancer very seriously.0 -
We have just returned from South Africa where I got badly sunburned and can recommend a product called freeze as aftersun which was about £3 for a bottle when converted. This is available at all pharmacies over there.0

Actually, it can be quite difficult in some countries. I've struggled to get high enough factor sun cream in some Asian countries. In others, I've found it only in small bottles. I have very fair skin and go through a lot of sun cream. I'd always take it with me to Asia but if I'm going to the U.S. I'd buy it there. I have friends who live in Asia and they always stock up on Soltan when they come back to the UK.0
