O2 vs Giffgaff

Tesco use o2's network and having been a customer of both I've found no difference in quality of signal etc. Data is no slower on tesco then when I was with O2. Difference I've found is tesco customer service is head and shoulders above o2's pathetic attempts at customer service which generally included being passed to various different reps and having to repeat yourself ten times, after waiting anything up to three hours on hold only to be fobbed off because serving their customers is the last thing customer service is actually interested in.
Tesco also have cheap sim only deals and hard caps on contracts.
I agree, you go onto their live chat and if you need someone in the care team, then wont palm you off by telling you to call on your mobile then will but you though on live chat and issues are sorted their and then.
Also if you look their SIMO deals and low priced contract are the same price, as i was looking for SIMO and ended up with a contract with Motorola Moto E for the same price and allowances as SIMO, so now i have a spare phone and they even changed the contract sim to a nano sim, so i could use the contract with my iphone which arrived less than 24 hours after asking0 -
I found giffgaff better than o2 and cheaper than Tesco however am now on three which has much better coverage for me than o2.0

Where I live is of no consequence as it is where I most use the phone that is relevant.
I used to get a fairly decent o2 signal at home but not in many of the parts of the country I find myself working hence my move to three.0 -

You're right. I should've said where do you most use the phone? I live and work in London but I shouldn't have assumed you work in the same place you live. Plus, different areas of London are good and bad.
My question should've been - where do you know Three have a good signal?0 -

Three have an excellent signal in most places I have been too, much better than o2.
In some parts of the north east of Scotland I can get no o2 signal but can get a good 3G signal on three.
Driving between Edinburgh and Glasgow the o2 signal used to drop off, not so three.
Many other examples that are relevant to me but may be of no use to others users.
Always worth testing a SIM and provider if you can.0 -
My husband is on O2 and I'm with giffgaff, we don't really notice much difference with signal and internet speeds, sometimes his is quicker sometimes mine is. He pays a lot more for his contract than i do, I pay £10 per month and get paid between £10-£20 per month in payback for using the giffgaff forum!0

My wife recently changed from pay monthly O2 to Giffgaff. The only difference, apart from the significantly lower monthly bill, is the lack of visual voicemail. Data speeds are exactly the same.
BTW, Giifgaff not only use the O2 network, they are in fact the same company (Telefonica, based in Slough)."Retail is for suckers"

To be more accurate, they are not the same company, Giffgaff is a subsidiary of Telefonica UK, not the same company.
Giffgaff is run as a completely seperate MVNO on the O2 network, much like Tesco or Lyca.====0
