New metre but higher bill despite lower than average usage

    I don't think there's a lot of point in wasting our time wrangling over opinions over why it is or isn't unfair and guessing why the charges the way they are now and then.

    Thanks, that was what I was saying. Always happy to look for more ways to economise and we're doing that.

    Your previous bills based on rateable value may have been very low making what may now be a normal bill for your usage comparatively high.
