How's January on EBay going for you ?

Because it's terrible for me !
Admittedly, I'm very very small scale seller, selling pretty niche low value items that do well on high days & holidays, but the drop in sales has really shocked me.
How is it for everyone else ?

To be honest I am struggling with motivation. I have had my fair share of problems at Christmas and my dashboard has taken a hammering. I am spending inordinate amount of time just trying to keep the shop tidy and up to date.
Yes sales have dropped off but just back to normal, i needed a breather after the Xmas madness!
Today I tried the new shop layout and all these old listings with 0 quantity have appeared, what am I supposed to do about those? it looks terrible! Do I cancel them all one by one?0 -

I've got the same problem with the 0 quantity listings. They are not supposed to show up in searches, but they do and I keep getting questions about them!
My January sales have been on a par with November and December. I'm also lacking motivation to sort and list anything due to unfair feedback and ebay constantly punishing us sellers!0 -
I had a good few random sales at the beginning of the month (I'm just a private seller listing unwanted stuff), but that was when people were still in Sales shopping mode.
Now I'm not bothering to re-list anything until the end of the month - most people are pretty skint by now, as you often get paid early in December, then have nearly 6 weeks before the next paycheque.0 -
Not been a bad January. Been a bit quiet but maybe that is just compared to the rush of Christmas? Also wonder if everyone is still spending in the January Sales.0

Brilliantly for me, but Jan is always my best month.0

I've had some very poor days indeed but I've had my holiday settings on a fair Bit as well (they are on now) which rather skews my figures.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Ebay's management have had a good new year though, the top man is getting $23million for making ebay so much better than it used to be."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

I'm just a small private seller and I've not done too badly this month, not as good as dec but I'm still happy, I suppose it depends on what we're selling as to whether we have a good month in winter. Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE

oh dear, just me then !! Ah well, I know my stuff is always in huge demand for Christmas gifts etc, and that Jan seems to be a slack month, but I just wasn't expecting the complete lack of sales

You'll always get people to agree/disagree in these threads. On the Ebay boards when they have one of these threads there's usually a succession of people agreeing and then one or two who will have had a "record month".oh dear, just me then !! January is generally considered a quiet month for sellers for obvious reasons. Check on your item's visibility on search and see if there's anything else you can do to boost sales..0
