Hi guys i am afte some advice please as I don't know what to do.
My sis in law lives in spain, since sept 2013
In may 2014 she left her husband after he hit her (she ran away in the street with nothing but the clothes she was wearing and her passport)
She came to stay with us for approximately 2 weeks, we gave her a roof over her head and money ect and she went back to work in a little shop that she owned.
2 weeks later the horrible man she was married to wormed his way back in by buying her a car ect and saying he would never do it again ect ect.
Anyway she went back to him and now she has fled back to spain but the problem is she has not paid any of her debts and has changed her address to our address!!!
I have phoned up the companies involved one of them being Lowells and explained that she doesn't live here and that she lives in spain, there is also a shop direct account and another one who I have never heard of.
(I haven't opened the letters you can see who they are from by the envelope)
I have politely e mailed here a few months ago asking her to change her address as she doesn't live here and she said she would but obviously she hasn't.
What on earth can I do to stop it?
No one knows where she is in spain as she wont tell anyone and no one can speak to her because her husband is a control freak and wont let her speak to anyone on her own, he even tells her what to say.
I am at my whits end as I don't want our house being blacklisted because of a selfish woman and her husband.
Oh and I forgot to add in November she sold her business for £10,000 and apparently her husband is a millionaire and yet she does this, that is one of the reasons I am so mad :eek:
Thanks for any advice
Sammy

Credit is on name, your house can not be blacklisted as a house can not apply for credit.
Bin the letters.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
Your house can't be blacklisted, as debts relate to people, not buildings.
My advice would be to print a few sheets of labels, saying "NOT AT THIS ADDRESS.", attach one to each letter addressed to your SIL, and post them back.
BTW. If she's your SIL, wouldn't that make her husband, your brother?0 -
no I am married to her brother and he is as disgusted as I am and he wants nothing to do with her

Credit wise no you cant be black listed, however companys can refuse on grounds of high risk address.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

is there anything I can do to get her name removed from my address?gave up smoking 07/01/09 :j:j:j0

no. You can however check your credit records with Experian etc and if any of your sister in law's details are shown you can add a Notice of Disassociation. All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0

Please elaborate, with sources. In the UK, there is no such thing as address blacklisting with regards to credit.
The only way OP's sister-in-law can have any impact on OP's credit profile is if any of the 3 credit reference agencies have a record of them sharing a financial association or connection with each other, which would only be the case if OP & SIL have ever had any financial products in joint names such as a loan or bank account.0 -
no we have never had any financial products together

Really? That sounds quite like black listing by address, which doesn't happen.
Compays like shopdirect do refuse to deliver to high risk addresses, where none payment or fraud has taken place.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
