Who can i complain to about BT?

Options
Despite extensive correspondence with various BT staff, culminating with talking to Gerry in BT Digital Care Complaints and Resolutions, BT continue to do what they want despite my objections to their service (or more to the point lack of it)!

Is there an external body that i can complain to about BT, as they are basically ignoring what i say, only contact me when they want and continue to bill me even when i have no broadband service from them!

I found the best way to deal with BT is to cancel your direct debits to them, they understand that perfectly and tend to jump up and listen when their cash is removed.

If they can not take your money, there will be no problem.
    Owed out = lots.

How long has it been since you raised your complaint with the Complaints and Resolutions department?

If 8 weeks have passed you can take it to the ADR, for BT it's Ombudsman Services: Communications.

Ensure you have exhausted BT's complaint procedure at http://www.btplc.com/thegroup/regulatoryandpublicaffairs/codeofpractice/customercomplaintscode/ - this also tells you how to take things further.

    Hope this info helps.

Yes, I too have had a similar experience with BT, I moved to another supplier for Phone & Broadband on 15th December but some bright spark at BT raised an order for a broadband service starting on 15th December without my knowledge or consent!. Also got a letter from them confirming that I'd placed the order. Spent numerous hours on the phone and have spoken to 7 different people to try and get the message across that I have not placed an order for broadband.

Sent a letter of complaint as I believe they are acting unlawfully by raising an order and charging me for a service I have not authorised!

Now have to wait a further 6 weeks before I can contact the ombudsmen. It appears that BT believe they are immune from providing a decent customer service to consumers!
They tried to take the direct debit for the upfront charges but I cancelled it before they could take it.....and guess they've been on the phone every day since!!
