I found it very easy as I have only spent about half an hour on it. You just need a great deal of patience as it takes a long time from application to getting paid. A bit like M&S and the Coop.

    That's not my experience.

I spent more time than that on the phone chasing up paperwork during the (almost) 4 weeks it took just to get the account open :(

I'm happy to wait for the incentive though as 2% isn't too shabby for a feeder account.

Just to clarify is this open to Northern Ireland residents
Are you asking about FD or YB/CB? Whilst you wait for replies from other NI residents (if any) who have gone for these deals, why not call them and find out? Both even have freephone numbers. :) Don't forget to post back and let the forum know.
and if so is the only switching criteria to transfer £1000 into this account or does it have to be paid via a salary?
Any salary stipulation (and other requirements) will be detailed in the respective T&Cs.
Finally how long does the £1000 have to remain in the account for?
It doesn't...for any of the current crop of switching offers.

How about http://personal.firsttrustbank.co.uk/ £125 switch incentive for Northern Ireland residents. Thread here
